The service was good but the food was questionable. Shocking serving food up like this.Chips alone must have been from an earlier time existence.
Best Fish shop I have ever been to in Wales, England, Scotland or Ireland. The fish is amazing and it’s always cooked to order. The chips are VERY moreish too! The food is extremely consistent and I’ve never had a bad experience. The Staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. It’s not on the menu, but they made me a corned beef fritter the other day. If you like corned beef, it was absolutely delicious! Especially dipped in curry sauce! Although my Dad would have preferred it with beans and chips! ???????????? I’d highly recommend this place and I just wish it was closer to where I live ????????????????????????????????????

Since this venue has been taken over, it’s very hit and miss….. I’m gutted. It used to be lovely, every time. Now it’s not so good. Nothing worse than ordering 2 large portion of chips and most of the chips are ‘crap’. Oh well… nothing lasts forever.
Always good, if there's a queue it's worth waiting!
The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is absolutely amazing. Definately the best fish and chips in wales!

I don't know what's going on at this place... It's gone from fantastic to.... Well very poor. The food is getting to be hit miss recently which is such a shame. The saving grace is the polite staff, although tbf you can have a ton of staff on shift, but no one really doing anything. Tonight is the final straw for me, it appears to be closed but open but closed.... Asked to come back in 10 minutes.
So I calculate 10 minutes to come back, 5 for my food if I get served straight away... Might as well go home and cook myself! I am giving this place a miss from here on and suggest others do, that way they may fix what's broken. It's such a shame, as a long term user of Llantwit major Farnham's I am very disappointed.
Unfortunately don't know what's gone wrong last couple of weeks with there food, last time mediocre tonight chips were dry and looked like they had been reheated, don't rely on your previous reputation, needs to.be more consistent and improvements made
We've used Farnhams since they opened as they're the best in the area, but we've noticed a gradual reduction in the quantity of chips being given culminating in the tiny amount given today (see photo). The total bill was around £11 for two very small portions of chips, one pie and one sausage in batter with a small portion of curry sauce. Everything was very tasty as usual but if you're considering one portion of chips between two, which is what we sometimes do, forget it as there wouldn't be enough.
We not complaining about the quality of the food which is excellent, but the quantity, which has become insulting.
We will stop using Farnhams now and look elsewhere or stop eating takeaways altogether as money is getting very tight now due to the worsening financial crisis.
In out opinion Farnhams will lose business with these small portions of chips.
