Fable & Green is such a welcome addition to this end of town. The decor and atmosphere are absolutely stunning - excellent attention to detail with design and lovely gift selection. I came in for excellent wine and dinner with friends for for my birthday, great food and service. Thank you! The menu looks great - we look forward to coming back for brunch!
Just fabulous. Lovely people, great food, fantastic interiors, some great vintage collectables for sale and a real favourite at our end of Oxford Street!! Highly recommended. ????????????
My plate is clear. Popped in for coffee and a brunch. Greeted by the most polite and genuinely helpful staff who explained to a newbie what they did. Took my order and told me to take a seat. Decent music at a volume you could talk over. Place was filled with mainly women as twos or groups. Coffee and food arrived in that order and were both very decent quality.
I will be back. Love the decor.
Another great find in Whitstable. Superb atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, food a drinks first class. Dog friendly which always helps (in our book). We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend F&G to anyone.
For a new venture, they seem to have nailed it!
Looked lovely but that's as far as it goes. It was not overly busy, and there appeared to be 4 staff serving. The table was cleared as we sat but no acknowledgement. We waited for 10 minutes before a young girl asked us for an order. We informed her we had no menus, and was pointed to boards on the wall behind us. My partner had to stand up and read them out as I am disabled. We settled for bacon and chicken toasties as alot was not available. She came back 5 minutes later, after talking about us to other staff!, and informed us we couldn't have the chicken as it was being saved in case someone wanted it with the roast! It was at this point we decided to leave, far too much like hard work, pretentious, and no customer service. They didn't seemed bothered at our departure.
We ended up eating in the Spoons down the road which was efficient, pleasant, nice staff and adequate for the cost.
I would love to be able to give a full review of Fable and Green but, alas, I did not get beyond sitting down at a table.
Plenty of staff around, the place not full , but no service. I sat at a table and was ignored for 10 minutes , a staff member even tending to the table next to me and still not acknowledging my presence.
That blighter Harry Potter still hasn’t returned that invisibility cloak I lent him a few years back so I know I was visible. I even spoke to a member of staff upon entering, so he at least must have known I was there.
I gave up waiting, leaving 4 members of staff chatting at the counter, oblivious to their surroundings it would seem.
Despite not being busy several tables were not cleared of dirty plates, whilst my own table had not been wiped down properly.
The plus side is that the atmosphere seemed warm and buzzy.
I was really looking forward to trying this place, having driven past many times and seen it full, so I won’t give up on it just yet. I just hope that the waiting staff on duty next time understand what the role entails.
