Best KPortal Reviews
We were on a NC500 Road trip and we stopped here for dinner - firstly we didn’t find parking space easily. Secondly the veg food had very less options to choose from - the food was also little highly priced. We ordered couple of veg dishes - the service was little slow. When the food arrived it had zero salt in all the dishes…. Overall a mediocre place to dine in … if you are like dying for Indian food and there is no other option then only you can visit this.
AMAZING FOOD!
Don’t believe the negative reviews, honestly.
My wife and I are Indian food fans and we were traveling through and gave it a shot despite the low score and reviews…and such GREAT FOOD and service!
Yes, it’s cash only. No big deal since there is a cash machine close by.
Lovely hostesses were attentive, kind, and helpful!
I asked for a spicy curry that was not sweet. He presented me two recommendations and definitely had to get both! Wow, so good and spicy!
We also got the poppadoms, boiled rice, garlic naan ( which was delicious, not dry at all like previous reviews ) and the royal chicken (spicy) and Lamb jalapani (real spicy).
i feel like the best bet is asking for recommendations based upon what you are looking for. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable ❤️????
If we ever head back in the region we will definitely come by ????
Arrived at 6pm. Whilst eating out starters we were told at 6.15pm we needed to order our main dish NOW as the table is booked at 7pm. At this point we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. At 6.45pm we were given the bill without asking after our plates were cleared. There was no option or chance for coffee or dessert!
The customer service here is appalling and we were made to feel very uncomfortable. Never come across such RUDE people.
After ordering our main it took only 9 minutes to arrive at our table. Piping hot from the microwave!
The Chicken Tikka Masala had more food colouring than flavour.
They only accept cash, probably to avoid paying taxes.
It is a BYO venue.
The young Scottish girl working here is very shy but lovely. Deserves to work in a better establishment.
By the time we asked to leave at 7.05pm there were only 11 people eating and 10 empty tables.
So much oil and food colouring, I was in the toilet for days just because of the oil.
The sag aloo was just oil. The curries were oil based dishes. The rice was microwaved. The naan was pre-packaged but actually nice, and with oil. The pakoras weren't pakoras but deep fried oil. The bhajis resembled bhajis but with additional oil. Also, the oil added extra oil because when there's not enough oil, they need extra oily oil.
Do not judge a book by its cover springs to mind...the service is extremely friendly and the food was fantastic..the best veggie samosas and garlic naan we have had in a very long time..might be “the only Indian in the village” but I tell you what it was definitely worth a visit ????????
We didn't have high expectations as we walked in. However, we all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Vegan food was great - very tasty and perfectly spicy. Sorry i cant remember dish name - it was the spicy vegan one. One had a garick chilli chicken ' hot, spicy and perfect. Good service. So glad we went in. Highly recommended - well worth going. But, remember to take your own alcohol (they are not licensed).
The cham cham chicken was lovely, the server was certainly needing to smile or maybe get another job as he was not very happy
A top tip for Ullapool is that the opening hours advertised on Google are rubbish. They must apply to tourist season. I was relying on these being right to get something to eat in Ullapool in December but all the takeaways are shut and it’s just after 9pm. I don’t really blame them as the town is incredibly quiet but to show opening hours on Google that are completely wrong is a bit rough. Going to bed hungry now.
