I had an ultrasound today at Eltham community hospital. The overall experience was good but most importantly the sonographer was simply amazing. She made me feel at ease and was a truly inspirational woman. So much kindness and compassion and lots of good vibes. I am sorry I did not catch her and but I wish her the best in life and hope she can look after many other women who will be lucky enough to meet her.
I have been to the phlebotomy dept, twice this year and couldn't be more impressed. Have been seen on time and my blood taken in a professional manner Treated with respect. I had become anxious because having blood taken in a different hospital was told I had difficult veins, phlebotomists I saw at Eltham had no trouble at all.
Never have I ever witnessed such unprofessional staff at this hospital. My wife had an appointment to see a phlebotomist here and the whole place is in disarray. Numerous times the receptionist would scream down the hallway at patients to call them in for their appointments. She would wonder off making personal calls leaving people confused on arrival and she also gave one patients confidential information to a different patient who was additionally very confused when he was told to go off and have a coffee only 15 minutes before his scheduled appointment. She also very condescendingly referred to my wife as a "big girl" when she asked me if i was going with her to the appointment.
This place is in need of a serious restructure.
Whilst the nurse did a great job I would recommend you visit somewhere else for your blood work.
Had an ultrasound here two months ago and these guys never sent the reports to my GP and now when I'm trying to call them they just hang up or transfer me to a number that doesn't pick up.
1 star only because I can't give a 0 rating. Main entrance, reception staff are rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Phlebotomist who saw my daughter acted like it was an inconvenience doing her job. She was very rough with the process and 1 day later there was blood coming from the area and she could hardly bend her arm on day 3. I will not be returning here!
This practice is running some sort of a scam where they force a translator (who barely speaks english) on you when english is not your first language and if you refuse to have one present during your appointment they won't see you. Beware of MSK department in this hospital and the extremely rude receptionist who clearly hates her job and patients who disturb her while she's scrolling on her phone.
EVERY SINGLE Time I go to get blood drawn they are belittling and disrespectful. I have needle Phobia and get panicked quickly and use Emla Creme which they make fun poke my arm and say of it doesn’t work and call me baby I quote : oh do we have a big baby here today ? ( while im starting to shiver )
Please tell your nurses to ABSOLUTELY NOT mock a patient it’s disgusting !
No one ever answers the phone!!! I’ve tried two different numbers for two days now to try and reschedule an appointment, which I received very unprofessionally by text message with spelling mistakes!!!! The NHS isn’t fit for purpose anymore
