This doesn't look much from the bottom but best to approach it from the left side path rather than the most obvious path straight ahead. The path straight ahead is very steep and difficult with young children. We had to scramble a bit and the loose stones were slippery. Views at the top are well worth the climb.
Great viewpoint which looks across Loch Lomond, even better if Earl's Seat is added to your route.
Great hill quite steep but OK for a walk Great views from the top we could see isla Craig the day we went also Loch lomond Great day out can be reached by public transport from Buchan stbus Station njoy manoeuvres stay safe ????
Really nice walk, also suitable for young children (3.5+ years)
A memorable climb, a reminiscent view.
A very steep walk, with some rough paths, exposed to all wind and weather, but worth it for the view from the top! Allow 45 mins - 90 mins to get up, depending on fitness levels, and take care on descent, especially if the grass is wet. V slippy!
Best wee hill of all! Great work out....for all the family. Requires a degree of fitness. I've seen too many abandon this walk simply because they've never walked on Scottish hills before. You'll get away with trainers on a good day but best using walking shoes/boots. We have taken family and friends up this just for the achingly spectacular views, from the "shire" like fields NW to Loch Lomond and Arrocher, 180 to unmatched views of Glasgow. A must sometime in your life!
Great steep hill for hike. Not so far from Glasgow (about 25 minutes drive). Car park places limited on lay-by next to distillery.
