The practice is very frustrating. They don't answer their phones and if you try and do an e-consult online it's often been deactivated. I liked them at first but now I'm already fed up. They also didn't provide my test results by phone or letter so I had to waste time having to go in and ask for them. I really think they need to up their service quality as it's very poor.
I did like my doctor Dr Tuoyo a lot though. He was very nice and helpful. It's just the general practice that lets them down.

I've recently moved to Charlton and initially registered with another local surgery that was not great to say the least. I then registered at Fairfield and the experience - because unfortunately I've had to visit there on three occasions - has been nothing short of exemplary. The receptionists have all been lovely - one in particular has fantastic customer service skills; the nurses - I've seen three! - have all been friendly, pleasant and professional and the doctor I saw was great; he listened, answered my questions clearly and helped me with several issues. FANTASTIC surgery and I've just moved from Surrey where my village surgery was VERY good.
Dr Chana, Dr Abel, the team are fantastic. Polite receptionist in a very busy surgery with lots of moaners who arrive late for their appointments, or don't turn up at all.// Very difficult to get an appointment but that is due to pressures from aging patients and overpopulation in London, not their fault.// They have a duty Dr on call if you can't get to see a Dr and they always call back and even see you if not satisfied with the call. // The nurses are fantastic!// /Installations are fairly modern and well maintained and the waiting room has plenty of magazines and even a child area for young.// The bad review about never been able to get an appointment and long waiting once in there does not reflect the fantastic job done by the team and their GPs. My respect, gratitude and admiration for how this surgery is being run.
I saw a nurse yesterday called Vicki, no smiles stone faced. She gave me the creeps. Made me feel so uncomfortable that I just could not let her touch me, she was so cold, I have requested to see Angela who I know has been there the longest and is friendly. I'm going to find another doctors as soon as, I don't recommend, them at all. No confidentiality either as i had one doctor who called social services because my twins didn't need to go community paediatric, who seemed to be making stuff up about my twins, twins nursery was very happy with twins with no problems at all. So don't think conversation is private there. I rang that doctor and told her off, for all the stress she put me through. I would never see any of the doctors there again, only the nurse Angela.
It's a nightmare trying to get an appointment. I've been on hold for 25 minutes trying to get an appointment. I've supposedly been at number one in the queue for that long! I'm amazed it's legal to operate such a system, because you really have to persevere to speak to a doctor. It a real mixed bag with the Doctors. When describing pain, Doctor Okoro told me that some pains have no source! I have since emailed the practice manager Karen about whether sort of comment is appropriate from a practicing GP. I've had no response.
Most disturbing practice ever to exist.
To begin with, the reception staff are so incompetent they don't know to book an appointment - when I turned up for my appointment, I was told I must be wrong because my name wasn’t on that day’s consultation list. Only when I mentioned I was going to complain to the NHS as this wasn't the first time it had happened, one the more senior girls went downstairs to listen to the recorded conversations only to come back to confirm that I did have an appointment but they made a mistake. I received no apology and was told I'd have to reschedule as the doctor was busy.
(May I add that, trying to get the actual appointment requires at least 30 mins of waiting on the phone - the reception girls hang up on me twice in a row after 14 minutes and 16 minutes respectively. However, when you’re actually waiting in the practice, you can hear them giggle / make jokes and the phones ringing off the hook).
When I did reschedule, I saw Dr T. Okoro, who instead of listening to what I was coming to see him for, he kept cutting me off mid conversation, condescendingly smiling and waving his hand around as if I was an inconvenience and my reasons for coming in were too insignificant to bother coming in for. He kept asking me 'what do you think you have' or 'what do you think it's wrong with you'? Errr, I don’t know, this is what I’m here for??? Finally, I was referred for a scan appointment and it should have taken two weeks for the letter to arrive (as the doctor confirmed). 4th week running and no letter, therefore no appointment.
The staff have no idea what is going on and gave me the wrong number to chase the hospital on. I have called twice for an update or a new number but god bless them, they are so clueless, it's painful to imagine how they get on in life or give support to people coming in for help.
PS: Does the rudeness come with the job description?
