Lovely reception staff but an absolutely shambolic prescription order system. I have been put on hrt by an NHS doctor and despite that, every time I need my patches (which is every two months), I spend 2-3 weeks chasing the GP for them to issue a much needed prescription! And every time I call the reception I am told that the prescription is ready to be signed off etc. This system was supposed to make everyone's life easier, but all it causes is constant aggravation and frustration. You cannot treat patients like that, we completely depend on you with our health and well being!!
I have just had a very short and rude conversation with a receptionist who didn't acknowledge any of my questions. She just kept telling me “You're welcome” and then just went silent … very odd and completely unprofessional.
Impossible to get an appointment. Laughable ‘booking’ system which sends you through a pointless questionnaire which ends up telling you to call the surgery. When you do, a receptionist will take notes - ‘someone will contact you’ you are advised. Of course, nobody ever will.
I even paid for a private GP appointment elsewhere and all they had to do was receive his e-mail and carry out some tests. They ‘didn’t receive it’. Maybe I should have it sent via carrier pigeon instead.
Don’t register with them. They will get paid to have you on their books but you’ll be lucky if you ever get anything in the way of services from them.
The website is so unclear, and when you call they just try to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. Was told I couldnt book an appointment to get my blood pressure checked, that there wouldn't be a waiting time. Got the opposite response when I got there, the receptionist and nurse were nice at least. But doesn't change the fact that I then waited 30 mins for a 30 second check up that I would have been happy to book in to be more efficient
I just called to make an enquiry and they were so rude. I spoke with someone named Simi(made sure I got their name), and she sounded like she just didn't have the time or day for anybody. She asked. 'What do you want' in such an aggressive manner, souldn't even say goodbye in the end. If you don't like the job(knowing you will be working with people), why are you there?
To book an appointment with the nurse: I had to call them which no one answered. After several emails they returned back and arranged an appointment which was at 10:45am. I waited outside in the cold 6c for 35 mins. Expressed my frustration to the nurse once I got in and she replied “what can I do “. Zero sympathy for keeping people waiting. Ironically she said people are waiting can you be quick. Not much to say: as much as I appreciate our doctors and nurses it really disappoints me to see those who really do give them a bad reputation. This practice has always had a long standing issue of this kind and it seems like nothings changed apart from the name.
I have been with 3 other GPs before St James Medical Practice. I used to think my GP is not helping until I came and experience this GP. I feel like breaking my phone when I call them for help. They don’t like to be bothered. They will direct you to their website and expect you to treat yourself with answering stupid questions. Worse GPs I’ve ever seen in my life. 1 star is even a lot.
These guys are REALLY taking a piss. After registering with St. James medical practice they tried calling me. I was at work. I am calling back: "they are currently experiencing issues with their landline". So I called back after 2 months. Same story. After half a year. SAME STORY. REALLY? The only way I know I am registered or partially registered with them is that they keep sending me invitations to COVID-19 vaccine. And the clinic is locked up like a fortress. You can't even walk inside without an appointment. It's been half a year and I still can't book one.
