1st off, staff very friendly and accomodating, excellent welcome and helpful throughout the stay. Couldn't fault them. Unfortunately hotel itself has seen better days and cleaning. Everything looking tired. Mould around bathroom seals, sink leaking, wasps nest outside bedroom window, kettle smelt really odd when boiling, no tv in room.however, new bed sheets and a REALLY comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice but small portions. We kind of enjoyed our stay. As a budget stay not bad, but travel lodge will provide a cleaner stay for roughly same price. In summary awesome staff let down by an old building desperately in need of some love and investment.
Budget hotel. Very dated in parts but suited us as a group of 4 walkers. Used the landing baths instead of room showers which weren't great and after a long hiking day was nice to soak. Slept very well both nights, bar is ideal with a lovely pint and log fire. Gent and the lady were great and very helpful. Breakfast was tidy. All in all for £25 a night with great central location is ideal for hikers/walkers as a base. Would stay again
Comfortable bed, friendly staff, good breakfast and working wifi made it a very good value base in Llanberis at October half term.||||There were a few technical glitches and yes, I've found a spider in the bathroom, but I had clean sheets, after 2 days fresh towels. Overall a pleasant stay. The hotel is old fashioned, but it had a character and certainly didn't have the clinical, faceless feel to it like some chain hotels have. Reading some previous reviews, I think some refurbishments have been/is being done since, so hopefully more people will have a positive experience there. It's central, shop, cafe, restaurant, lake, Snowdon Rail and Llanberis path all in walking distance.
ok , been there twice . First time was decent so to say, room was very tired but not disgustig, so I decided to have another go and that was the one of most terrible experience in my "hotel" life . Our room was VERY dirty , everything actually falling apart , full of spiders , spider nets , rubbish under the bed was dating back to 1980s . felt like sleeping on the pile of junk . Very uncomfortable experience was wondering what is going to crawl from under the bed and bite . bathroom - broken flush , leaking toilet( carpet in the bathroom wet and stinking , most around the loo :( ) , ceiling above the bed falling apart , boards actually detached hanging right above our heads ... could say a lot more but .... - Lovely owners , lovely staff , very friendly and helpfull . quiet cheap (but not that cheap! sorry , standardized travelodge charge the same if booked a bit earlier )..., decent breakfast (at this price ), excellent location ... Guys please , please clean up, there is no excuse for that , we understand the price , and location and we will try again , not this year , so you have some time to improve :) but we will
We arrived late into Snowdonia and couldn't find a room anywhere. So we looked over at this ugly building and decided to give it a go. This has got to be one of the worst B&B's I have ever stayed in. The price wasn't cheap either - GBP 25 per person! It can't even be called a hotel - more like a hostel with B&B prices! From the minute we walked into our room, I wanted to walk out. It was the most disgusting room I had ever seen. The bed was dirty - looked like the sheets had not been washed in ages. The duvet had no cover on it so you know that that thing never gets washed. The bathroom had wood coming out of the walls, stained tubs, stained toilets. Dirty soiled towels. I didn't feel like touching anything. The decor looked like it came out of the 60's - the ugly soiled carpet, the ugly flower wall paper with clashing floral curtains. Plus the room was bone cold - no heat! My son's room didn't even have an attached bathroom just a sink. The beds were springy - I literally could feel each and every spring poking in my back. We hesitantly spent the night and woke up bright and early and quickly left without eating the included breakfast. Because we felt everything was so dirty, we felt apprehensive about eating there.I would not recommend this place to anyone. We would have been better off sleeping in our car for the night. Horrible experience. Don't waste your money!
A good nights sleep, a good breakfast, a warm welcome from friendly owners and a good wifi connection, what more do you want? It might be dated, but some improvement work was going on. ||I read some reviews from people who obviously expected too much, but if there is a genuine problem, why not talk to the owners about it? If you want a clinical clone go somewhere modern... ||I couldn't ask for more for the very reasonable price.
OMG, what a dump, shown to a truly awful small double, miss matching floral bed linen, furniture had lacquer cracking off, an I imagined OD pills in top drawer and a hangmans noose in the bottom drawer...thick matted carpet, flat from 40 years of depressed souls walking around the room. Cubby hole of a bathroom, same carpet. Cobwebs. Could have only stayed if I was drunk,an would have slept fully clothed... an not noticed... Sadly I wasn't, and made a really lame excuse and we ran out of there, not sure if was tears from laughing or crying. No tv... Think Norman Bates/Psycho... However the lady that showed us around was lovely and felt bad for her. Anyway... Good luck, God rest all who stay there!
The other reviews are pretty accurate and you will either love or hate it. Walking in the day and beer at night with mates its perfect for £25. Want a little time to relax in the room in between sight seeing it isnt for you. Unfortunately when the marathon is on your choices are limited if you want to be near the start.
