We cannot recommend this place more highly. We don’t know the area and it was the first time any of us had visited. We arrived just after 10am on Saturday 11 March 2023 (5 adults, and our 2 year old toddler) to a cafe that was already over half full, and with plenty of take out customers coming and going, and the lady who served us (despite obviously being very busy) was so lovely, warm and friendly as well as being very polite, attentive, conscientious and efficient. We were almost going to leave it as we thought there’s no way they’ll be able to fit us in. However the lady moved 3 separate tables together to accommodate us without a moment’s fuss or bother (this is not a big cafe where the same might be easy to facilitate), offered and provided a high chair for our young son and even made sure there was space for people to get by. The food was out of this world. We had 2 x full breakfast; 3 x poached eggs on toast; and a kid’s breakfast, plus teas, coffees and a hot chocolate. I was paying and was thinking this will probably be somewhere north of £65, but was only an incredible £44. The service was brilliant and very quick but not rushed. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and one of the nicest I’ve ever had in this country - it tasted more like what you might have in Ireland or Scotland; dead generous portions and the sausages and bacon were just delicious obviously really well-sourced meat and cooked very well. Even the mushrooms and the tomato (which I don’t always eat) were gorgeous and seasoned to perfection. The lady was lovely with our boy and even knew he’d want white toast rather than the brown all the adults had. Even little things like the quality of the bread stood out and the use of proper butter instead of some cheap margarine. The coffee was really nice too. The lady who served us was busy in the back when we came to leave so I just wanted to make a special effort to say thank you so much for making us feel welcome and valued rather than an hindrance and keep up the fantastic operation you have going there. You never forget a brilliant service and an experience especially when it comes to food. I will be recommending it to everybody I know around Merseyside.
