One the most helpful and kindest pharmacy I have been I too I literally rang around full Dewsbury and Batley for a medicine which no one stocked except for this pharmacy.
They also took time out to help with a form that I can claim back money for the medication.
Which ever pharmacy I’ve have been to they always seem to be very rude and do not want give that time and advise to a customer.
I felt very welcomed here and I will come here in future even though I live a little far from here.
Too many cooks in the kitchen spoils the broth!
Every time I go to this chemist there are always too many front desk staff and none of them have any basic communication or customer service skills. I appreciate we all have to start somewhere but it is like this every. time. I go...! I waited over 10 minutes to receive a prescription today and it turned out that it was all ready and waiting on the shelf, the assistant said it was ‘coming in a few minutes’ but she didn’t move from the desk to ask anyone or check the computer? It’s not the first time I’ve had to remind someone that I was still waiting. It seems that the back of house works but the front of house doesn’t. It really needs to improve at Healds Road Pharmacy.
19/12/23 Update -Received a call today from the manager of the pharmacy who really did apologise for the service I'd received. She was very concerned and passionate about assisting, offering a number of solutions suitable for my situation which I very much appreciated.
Previous review - I've been using this pharmacy now for a few years and have always given them the benefit of the doubt but my last few visits were terrible. I have alot of meds to collect. Everytime I collect them, I'm asked the same question every single time, 'Have you collected them already?'. (Well no or I wouldn't be visiting to collect!). The staff go and look for my meds which are always in a big bag and 99% of the time they return to say they can't find them. Then they start wondering around different areas for them, when they're always on the shelf where they usually are. Then they get another member of staff to help who locates them straightaway. I always end up waiting so long for medication that is already packed up. On one occasion a member of staff couldn't find my meds and served another customer behind me in the queue, without an explanation.
I take an injection which is not insulin and one female member of staff explained to myself that she would obtain my 'insulin'. When dispensing medication members of staff should know exactly what they are giving to customers and not calling or thinking it's something else. This could cause alot of confusion for someone or even lead to a complaint of incompetence.
I was served the last couple of visits by a new trainee who was totally miserable with no customer service skills whatsoever. The wait time for medication is just too long.
Due to all this I have changed to another pharmacy who uses an electronic system for processing medication. They receive the prescription, make up the meds which are scanned and stored for collection. Once scanned I receive a text requesting to collect. On collection, the medication is scanned. I'm nolonger constantly asked, 'Have you collected already?' and they locate my medication straightaway. I've never been longer than 5 minutes waiting for medication. I highly recommend that Heald's Road Pharmacy invest in an electronic system as it would make dispensing to customers alot easier for them and staff.
Despite my negative complaint, they're are a couple members of staff whom have been excellent. I know it's a busy pharmacy but you need to update your technology.
The chemist as got some ups and downs but more times than not gets it correct it doesn't help them though when the doctors next door at healds road surgery make mistakes and pass the buck and blame the chemist spoken with manager at chemist who apart from been run off there feet do the hardest but shouldn't after put up with incompetent doctors surgery which I've already waiting for investigation by palls. Under the circumstances keep up the good work fauzia and team.
Visited the pharmacy a few days ago as my local pharmacy was unable to stock an item for me. A big thank you to the young pretty lady with long hair who served me. Was very polite and friendly. It's not everyday you go into a pharmacy and receive amazing service. My daughters prescription was done and given to me under 5 minutes, very efficient. Will consider using this as my regular pharmacy. Many thanks.
The prescription is always ready, but I'm always waiting 15 to 20 mins while they find it.......
UPDATE:I have been using this pharmacy for a few months now. The pharmacist's themselves are excellent & the prescription is always ready on time. They have had quite a few trainees recently & this has caused problems with the actual finding of the prescription to hand over, but hopefully this has now been resolved. Great opening hours too. Thank you.
Dewsbury Pharmacy offers an exceptional pharmacy experience that impressed me from start to finish. The knowledgeable and friendly staff especially the tall blonde haired female, make me feel valued as a customer . Despite a steady flow of visitors, their efficiency ensured minimal wait times. Their range of products, from prescriptions to over-the-counter items, made it a convenient one-stop-shop for my healthcare needs over the years since it has opened. . I highly recommend this pharmacy for everyone in the local area to visit.
I don't normally write reviews but I had to this time to say a huge thank you to one of the staff member called kainat who I dealt with on the phone and in person regarding my grandsons medication. Lovely young lady whose manners and approach are exceptional. She was very polite and patient even though I was being snappy. Truly an asset to the team.
