Decided to finally visit. You have to be reasonably fit to first cross the shingle causeway, then navigate the stony beach to reach the cave with the crucifix painting. It's well worth it though
Well worth the walk over the causeway to see the cave paintings!
Great walk across and up to the summit.
Great views, short walk along a pebble beach to the caves and cave paintings
Great 2 hour walk around the island
Lots of rock hopping around the back of the island and probably only doable at low tide , and the cave with painting is worth the walk
Reachable 3 hours either side of low tide
Brilliant, walked all the way round this place, it was a challenge but was worth it.
Came here many times, but today was lucky to find the cave painting of crucifixion
Great walk. Do the cave. Head back to the causeway and head for the lighthouse. At the lighthouse turn right up the hill through the bracken and be rewarded be some amazing views from the top of the Isle. It's then an easy decent straight to the causeway. A superb way to spend an afternoon.
Only one word can describe this island "magical" tidal isle reached by a natural causeway. The walk to the right from the causeway past the cottage ruins takes you to the caves and the painting. One thing I'd recommend anyone who visits to do is stop talking and absorb the silence. Absolutely no noise pollution means even the wind turbine about a mile away could be heard. Watch all manner of coastal feathered friends from Grebe , Heron and Cormorant my new favourite place.
