We booked a table for 7.45 and we were hounded by the barmaid 4 times from from 7.05 until 7.45, so much so we decided not to eat there and then she snatched the menus off our tables. The following night telling us we needed to book in advance, and they were fully booked, but asking fellow customers and they hadn't booked advance. So we were being punished for not ordering food the previous night. As a community pub that needs trade service abysmal.
Lovely food but restaurant needs a revamp
Dropped in for an evening meal while on a cycle tour with my son. The service was a little slow, but friendly, and the meal was well worth the wait. We even learned a little Welsh from our waitress, which was a pleasant touch.
Noting the review about drinks in cans, my son's lemonade was served in a can but with a glass provided, giving him the choice. (He preferred to drink from the can.)
We were staying in a nearby holiday cottage and Googled nearby pubs. This came up and we decided to visit because of the good reviews. We were hoping for a nice country pub but got what seemed like a social club with a cafe attached. No beers on draft and only one house white wine was available. Even the soft drinks are served by the can. The food was also below standard and comparable to a workplace canteen. The restaurant was brightly lit with a TV on - not a place for a relaxing, quality meal after a long walk or a place to visit on holiday.
I wouldn't bother going here! We were staying in a holiday cottage and this was the nearest village. We decided to have a spot of lunch at the crymych arms but never again. The chicken curry looked and tasted like it was from a tin and a cheap tin at that. The mixed grill was ok but I wouldn't recomend it. We should have known by the state of the condiments that we were not in for a nice meal. We were very disappointed and would recomend that people give it a miss
We visit Wales every year and always make sure we stop here at least once. The service in here is 1st class, from the very friendly landlady. Great food too.
Lovely restaurant with consistently good food and service, ideal for families with a good menu of uncomplicated real food, good children's menu and love the way that the bar and restaurant are separate which adds to the appeal when looking for a family dining experience, would certainly recommend.
Exhausted, lost and very wet cyclist sort refuge and found here, along with a warm welcome. I would recommend that anyone passing make a stop here. Thanks for all your help.
