Expensive (!!!) for Bideford, and quiet early on, but once the DJ starts at 10pm, and they open the upstairs bar, it soon gets livelier.
Cocktails on tap for the ladies, which I've not seen before, but seem to be pretty popular, decent (ish) draught/bottle selection, mainstream/premium spirits only. Didn't look for wine, so will update after next visit.
Only place open late for a dance & drink in the immediate area, unless you're going to Barnstaple.
Smart casual dress code, no caps etc. Lots of security on duty.
Lots of bar staff on duty so rarely need to wait to get served.
If you stay until the end, there are NO takeaways open late in town (in the off season), unlikely in summer too.
Overall a great place for singles, couples and groups of friends, friendly efficient service, most people start in other bars and end up here, and it gets very warm when busy.
Would be a 5⭐, but -1 purely down to the cost of drinks.
As a person who genuinely doesn’t like to use racism as compliant I’ve never felt more singled out and ostracised by the Staff then anywhere that I’ve ever been.
Cracking night out. Guest DJ was ace. Didn't have to wait long for a drink (prices are a bit higher than other places but not the end of the world). Shame the smoking area was only out in the street really, bit of a pain for bouncers and people wanting to pop out.
Overall though had a cracking time and will be back.
Good for older songs and charts. Staff are very friendly. Prices are reasonable, considering the area. Bathrooms and floors could be a bit cleaner, but with how many people are drinking it's understandable it can get pretty gross! Only improvement would be if dancefloor was downstairs, not upstairs.
Stunning. Copper lighting and bespoke fittings, subtle features, friendly and professional staff, wheelchair access, if Carlsberg made nightclubs... ????
Only ever been for drinks and dancing. Bar service was good.
It's been refurbished recently so very nice inside, glad to see they kept the giant fish! There's a dance floor and lots of seating, including a quiet cloister downstairs.
Loved it.
The lad that was serving was so friendly.
