I've been using the same mechanic for my car for 4 years, however he was fully booked so I chose this garage because they were the ones that could change the clutch on my car ASAP.
I was told over the phone that it would costs £250 to have it fitted.
When the garage called to say its ready for collection I was told that the total cost is £370 because the slave cylinder and gearbox oil were also changed.
I was not told this before hand, surely any extra work or change in price would have to be agreed with the customer!?
The gearbox oil was changed two years ago so that wasn't a must.
When I got home and checked the car I noticed that the screw that holds the engine gearbox at the top was missing, and a part that was attached to that screw was tied with cable tie so clearly they misplaced that screw because I know for definite that was there.
He should also state from the start that he wants cash (for reasons known to him). Personally, I won't be coming back here and I do not recommend and I am disappointed because I chose this garage following the recommendations found on the internet.
After 3 months I found that it's an oil leak from the gearbox, under the car.
Being a technician ex mot tester and quality controller the recent work done to my vehicle was appalling. I asked John owner and his mechanic to carry out check on all underside suspension and repair any faults week later picked up vehicle and that afternoon my o/s/f bottom ball joint fell apart thank God I was driving slow rang John he said what's it got to do with me no apology he did except to repair it . Big mistake by me. John told me he had repaired driveshaft before collection so I checked it with his mechanic and we found it was still split freeze leaking onto brake disc very dangerous again.
Was lucky I phoned just to check a price, much cheaper than the other garage. Amazing service, will definitely use again.
