Lovely coffee shop along the canal. Here you can sit with a coffee and cake watching the barges go by. Clean toilets. Has a drive thru too!
Have been over to this Costa a few times. I like that it’s clean and there is a lot of space. Also seating outdoors or if you want to walk along the river. Good to also have the drive through option.
I have run into times we’re they’re out of things (mostly food) and it’s just the start of that day. Overall, I prefer this Costa to some of the others.
We went on opening day after the school run. It was understandably very busy and well staffed (number wise obviously in preparation for opening rush) but what I hadn’t thought about was because they take cash payments it was FULL of high school kids. Most of them ordering frappes and milkshakes which took a long time to prep. As a result there was very long queues.
We won’t eat in again for a while until the rush to visit from the locals etc dies down.
What is handy though is they offer other lunch food from M&S, so if you fancy something a bit different to the Costa food there’s that option with your coffee.
Outside area with benches is nice to sit at by the canal side.
Carpark is handy if you’re not a local enough to walk there.
Just received a flier through the door detailing their offers. If you use your own reusable drinks cup every 4th drink bought you get the 5th one FREE in store! (As opposed to every 8 drinks get the 9th one FREE in store).
Unfortunately there’s been a problem with the speaker system on the drive through since opening. So they are awaiting an engineer to fix it. Fingers crossed ???????? this will happen soon.
Just chuffed to bits as Costa give away free cake when it’s your birthday- I just registered it on the app ???????? and I’m now eating mine ????
Sausage roll was nice, coffee was very watery, tasted like warm milk, as if coffee grounds were not changed between cups. Partners coffee was normal. I couldn't change it because the queue was so long my roll would have been even colder. Had to wait for one toasted sandwich whilst the other went cold on the table. Only 1 working toilet, the other one has been broken for weeks. 2 toilets aren't enough anyway for a location that size anyway. It's a great location, but service isn't improving.
The member of staff called Chris is a breath of fresh air. He is so cheerful , hard working, and positive. A true gentleman and a credit to Costa. Thanks Chris for making our afternoon coffee a great experience.
Brand new Costa on the roadside for drive-through or dine-in, also handy to access from the canal towpath. All clean and fresh inside, spacious too. Plenty of staff on hand.
On a warm day, the best part is the outdoor tables beside the canal. I enjoyed sitting in the sun, sipping coffee and eating cake, as usual.
All very clean and airy. Looks like a well executed pub conversion next to the canal. So handy after a walk.
Parking can be a bit limited at busy times.
The Costa quality ???? was just what you would expect.

Very poor quality service. I was refused to have cream on top of my latte because barista said they don't usually do it. Also as I was placing my order she stopped and started to serv drive thru. At the end I had to request to finish my already paid order as they did not bring me my treats. Strange people.
