Only used the bar where I have always been met with excellent service. The log burner in the corner is welcome on cold evenings
We were staying at the campsite next door & had every intention of having a meal in the hotel until a man who was possibly the owner was very rude, insulting & very arrogant towards us in the car park. My Grandaughter was being dropped off to stay with us on the campsite so my son in law politely asked the man if he could leave his vehicle in the car park for a short time while we took her things to our caravan & then we would be back to have a meal in the hotel, he was told he couldn’t so he went & parked somewhere else, we then went to walk back to the caravan site through the walkway to the caravan site as we were residents there & the same man told us we couldn’t go through to the site that way which we understood we were allowed to do if we were staying at the caravan site, my son in law asked him what the issue was & he again started to be very rude & made some very insulting comments towards us, we in no way provoked him, we were just an ordinary family having a weekend away in our caravan with our grandchildren, I suggest the said man should learn some manners & customer service skills on how to talk to people especially as when my son in law approached him to ask about leaving his vehicle in the car park he asked in a very polite way & did not expect to be met with such rudeness, ignorant attitude like this does not deserve people custom
Such a lovely place to be, always welcomed my family in with open arms. Food is fantastic and staff are amazing. We look forward to staying at our caravan and visiting the Cosgrove Lodge. Xx
Beautiful building and venue, and set in well kept and tidy surroundings.
Very friendly and professional staff, and they even gave me a free drink as card machine was temporarily available.
The food was very enjoyable also, and they serve large and more then substantial sized portions.
Would recommend and visit again.
Please don’t eat here!!! Menu is simple, which is fine but the quality of the meat is quite frankly disgusting. You can’t charge £10 for a burger with such poor quality food. It was made harder by trying to cut said meat with a wooden knife and fork.
Went for dinner and a drink with family. The food was brought to us with plastic cutlery and less than required. Resulted in a member of the group to go back to the bar to ask for more and preferably metal cutlery. After a wait, and 3 meals going cold, one of the male members of staff approached our table and sarcastically reached over and put the cutlery on the table and said due to covid we no longer issue metal cutlery.||||Over priced for what the menu is. Lager was flat.||||As we left the same member of staff was sarcastically waving at us like a demented moron.|||| Don’t go here. Pay a few extra ££ and get a DECENT quality meal and drink at the Barley Mow!
Very friendly, polite, and professional staff, and a nice relaxed atmosphere. ||||Beautiful venue also, and they serve great food with large generous portions are served. ||||Great value for money and I would definitely visit again.
The worst i.ve ever been to and i.ve eaten at a few restaurants in my lifetime ....|An hour and a half wait for their advertised curry and bingo night and when the meal finally arrived the order was wrong, some missed out completely. Although saying that, the bingo was fun!!|The following evening we thought we.d try a barmeal as it seemed quiet there. The barstaff told me to go back to the restaurant just after 6, as they had a function on at 9. So 6 oclock came, we went back to the restaurant, 5 children, 4 adults. I was confronted by a staff member who asked what we wanted, so i explained what i.d been told. Another 'staff member' who didn.t identify himself told me we.d have wait until 7...as they had a function later on.|I replied 'in that case we.ll go somewhere else as last night the meal took an hour and a half to arrive And the children were hungry. I also said they.d loose a lot of money as we would have eaten there most nights.. |The male staff member became abusive, told me he didn.t want me there as i was rude and continued to shout at me as i walked away.|My son in law, a head chef, told him to not talk to paying customers like that as it destroys buisness.. |He also told him that this was why there was only 3 paying customers at the bar...|My point is that this 'could' be a thriving bar and restaurant as it is a beautiful setting, and very profitable apart from a shoddy, disorganised hash of a management who need to either quit or get a grip!!!|If it was my business i would replace the managers and retrain the floor staff. I felt ashamed for them......|
