Best KPortal Reviews

We saw some of the negative reviews beforehand and are not sure if there is a stark difference between the rooms, or if some renovations have been done recently - but we really enjoyed our upstairs room with the four-poster bed. Beautifully decorated, great vintage atmosphere, a lot of space, clean bathroom and a hot shower. The only fault might be the old mattress which is a bit springy, but we slept well nonetheless and look forward to coming back. The location is great and the free grab and go breakfast is a nice bonus.
Very comfortable room in a secluded location. No staff on site, but entry and exit were easy PIN code access to key. Basic breakfast and coffee facilities provided all I needed. Easy access to the town. This was great value, and a very pleasant stay. I came to visit y daughter, who loves in the town but has no spare bed. Comfortable
Had a fantastic stay. Such a quiet & peaceful place. Clean & tidy room. Would highly recommend. Lots to explore.
Budget friendly great place for a stop off en route north. Always lovely and warm on arrival with lots of roasting hot water. Tea and coffee provided , towels and bedding. Rooms good size and generally just hassle free when you want to just stop off and have a quiet night.
We're staying here now and love it. Spotless clean, nice big room and lovely bathroom. In a beautiful setting and 5 min walk to village. Loving the free coffee machine. Super value. Lovely girl who cleans the rooms, very helpful. I definitely recommend this lovely hotel. ♥️♥️
Amazing location right on the edge of Kingussie bordering the countryside. Nice clean room, Pleasant staff. Easy to use Keycafe system.
Some parts are from 1865!
Huge private garden with a few bench seats, and even a picnic table during the New Year. Really nice well kept garden to wander around and relax in. Even saw some wild rabbits in the top corner every now and then which was nice.
No main meals while I visited (During New Year 23/24) but did have a free 'grab n go' breakfast consisting of a few different Kelloggs cereal bars and some chocolate/ strawberry croissants etc.. there were also several cereals like cornflakes and rice crispies and fresh milk available too. Also had a microwave and coffee machine if you needed it, although my room already had a kettle, two large mugs and plenty of tea/ coffee/ milks/ sugars in it. You could grab extras of these items from the breakfast room during the day/night if needed. Room also had bedside 'touch' lights and a lovely big long bath, loads of hot water and clean white towels. Fresh clean white linen on the beds and I was also asked if I needed more while I stayed there. The one member of staff I did speak to was polite and helpful.
Parking was fine and right outside the hotel entrance. Had CCTV over the carpark and the hotel is in its own private grounds so felt like any vehicles left would be safe and secure. Also had CCTV inside the hotel including the public breakfast and lounge rooms.
After booking and arriving I read some horrific reviews on this hotel but this was not my experience at all, everyone else also seemed happy too, not sure if the owners have changed or what but my time here was great. Had a lovely peaceful time and hope to be back later in the year.
Would definitely recommend Columba House Hotel in Kingussie Scotland.
I had the best room in the house. A giant four-poster, crazy floor that went through multiple levels and pitches, giant sash windows deeply inlet; it was more like being in a castle - and almost as labyrinthine. Big bathroom, silent outdoors, warm as toast. It was like living in the 1950's.
Great spacious room. Ideal for our elderly labrador as on ground floor and loads of room to put his bed down. Great Internet connection. Stayed 2 nights and it was a perfect location for a trip to Aviemore and the surrounding area. It was tucked away and was quiet and bed was very comfortable. The grab and go breakfast was a great touch and the auto check in and out with the key safe worked perfectly with our 4am start on leaving. The local town was quiet but offered a few options for cafes and a pub or two but limited opening times. Convenience store and a great community charity shop nearby. Stayed 2 nights fantastic value. Will definitely stay again. This time was on the way home after a long trip through the hybrids and was great to have a comfy bed and room to relax in before a long drive home.
