Haven't had a fish & chips in years. Stumbled upon this place on a walk and fancied one. Good portions, good price, very filling. The fish was freshly cooked. Chips were thick.
17th April 2021. Not been to Colins chip shop in years but I was told the chips are far better than they used to be and to be honest wow they were amazing. I also ordered a sausage which was well cooked and really nice. I'm so glad I called in. Keep up the good work.. No more tiny bitty chips like they used to be.

I treated my grandson and myself to jumbo sausage chips and curry sauce. I was told that the chips are best around and they was right. Absolutely best I've tasted in a long while. Will definatley go again.
Definitely won't be returning!!! Food had been previously cooked and warmed up... You can tell if it was fresh food... Absolutely disgusting and was shocked by the portion of a large bag of chips and how burnt they was. The sausage and rissol was obviously from weeks ago :( :(
Absolutely awful. So so disappointed. I went to get fish and chips soon after they opened at 5.30pm.
I was expecting freshly cooked fish. That's why I went early.
However it was awful. It's quite obvious what they had done. Fish left over from lunchtime opening had been re - fried thus overcooking the fish completely. It was dry and hard inside. The batter was soaked in oil too.
Why do they do that? Why ruin their reputation.? Such a shame. I'll never buy from there again. I'm also wondering if they are allowed to re cook left over fish?
It's about a 15 minute drive for me so I decided not to drive back.
I'll just put it down to "experience".
Pity
The food here is cooked well and tasts delicious. Fish is freshly cooked. Staff and service are first class.
