I have recently moved to the area and I had walked past this place a couple of times and it smelt great so I decided to try it. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the quality of the Fish and Chips, the quality of the fish was fine but everything was dripping in oil and the batter was of such poor quality and the chips were undercooked. It may have been an off night as there is always a que out of the door so I will try again but my first experience was not a good one.
The only thing that I think could make it better is if it was open a little bit later as sometimes i cannot get there until after 9pm and thats when they close. Also,delivery option in and around clapham would help those who cannot get out but love their food. I also cannot say enough how tasty their curry sauce is and their chips are always nice. Friendly service too
Best fish and chips in the Bedford area, always has been. I drive from south side of town to go there, it is always quality. I 30 or more years of eating here ihave never had a bad meal.
I have just eaten a lovely piece of fish with chips from the fish shop in Clapham. It was very good far too many chips for 1 person but someone else may eat them all. The chips were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. I can't understand the reviews that said they didnt like it. The staff very helpfull and cheerful and I couldnt have ask for anything more from a chip shop.
Real tasty, value for money, traditional fish 'n' chips or, in my case (as a veggie), chips 'n' veg pasty, spring roll, cheese and onion fritter, pineapple fritter, pickled egg and mushy peas (not necessarily all at once!). The fish looked good too with a lovely golden batter.
