If your looking for old school fish & chips look no further, (please note for those unaware fish contains bones and skin) and not frozen minced up processed white meat with preservatives and additives. If you want to taste how our national dish should be this is the place!
This chip shop has come on leaps and bounds, fish cooked to order,always hot when you get home (unlike some other chip shops!) Has some good food deals on,especially the kids options! good choice of food ie burgers,pies,sausages and scrumps only 20p per bag! Bang tidy!! .Disabled entrance,parking to the rear (small car park)
This was my 1st visit to Charlie's & I was hungry! So, I ordered quite possibly the most amazing cod & chips I have tasted in a very, very long while. The chop shop is very much welcoming, the staff truly amazing. And the prices are very reasonable. I will definitelybe makinga return visit soon ????.
New owners and new services sta waited only about 5 minutes as chips were cooking. Busy so can expect that.
Friendly service was a problem at all. Talked to new ower, very pleasant.
Chips were like the curry lush. Rice was a tad dry, but tasty all in all.
Highly recommend , Irish curry rice and chips. Pickled egg.
Ordered haddock and chips, cod and chips, two fishcakes and chips curry sauce battered sausage 3 pineapple fritters.
When they arrived the chips looked liked they were dinner times not very warm the fish was ok the pineapple fritters were very greasy my order came last night at 19.00pm. I have had fish and chips from you before the chips was lovely and wrapped in paper not take away boxes.
The food is always fresh & warm. Staff are friendly & we never have to wait too long. They're no shy with the serving of chips either ????
Not used the chippy for years, but heard the new owners were local so popped in after watching the county lose.. great customer service from everyone behind the jump . Good sized portions, reasonably priced… spotlessly clean… just what the doctor ordered after another home defeat.. fish, chips, pies and curry sauce all well received and old skool SCRUMPS !!!..will definitely be back and highly recommend..
First visit one evening had chicken and mushroom pie and chips.. Large chips more than enough for two. Nice chips but pie bit tasteless.
