Phoned at 5pm to ask if I could bring my cat for an evaluation, after receiving an online offer of over £7k. The unfriendly gent said that I needed to book an appointment online - and that they didn’t have any further appointments today. So I entered my details online - and there were several appointments. I booked for 5:20pm and arrived at 5:15pm. He was surprised to see me, and disgruntled when I asked the reason I was told telephonically that there were no appointments remaining for today, when in fact there were several. I had interfered with him playing on his private phone. There were no other customers around. The unfriendly person then asked if I wanted an evaluation or to sell my car. He became angry and more unfriendly when I said that my decision of whether to sell my car to WeBuyAnyCar depended on the evaluation amount. My car which I think is in excellent condition with much fewer scratches / minor stone chips than most cars its age, was valued at almost £1k less. The noncommittal evaluator didn’t even look inside my car. Didn’t start the engine etc.
He refused to give an exact amount - because I refused to agree to sell my car without knowing what amount would be offered for it.
I’m surprised anyone sells their car for an unknown “mystery” amount.
When I declined to sell my car for a mystery amount, the rude gentleman flounced off back to the rusty shipping container office. When I took a photo to add to this review, I was met with unprofessional hostility and aggression.
The young man who dealt with us was under immense pressure as the internet was causing him problems. He handled everything with calm efficiency and processed our car explaining everything as it progressed. He was extremely efficient and we left feeling very satisfied.
We had a great experience with Raaj, he was polite and great to speak to. We didn't feel pushed into selling the car. Raaj made sure everything went through correctly and explained things in good detail.

Quick and efficient service. Don’t put all your hopes on receiving the initial valuation though as it assumes a virtually perfect vehicle. Polite, friendly and courteous service from the salesman.
Sales guy was very friendly, not pushy, calm & measured. Never made a fuss about minor bodywork marks, or cost of overdue service. Made me a good offer & everything was fine in less than 20 mins. I 2as pleasantly surprised & would definitely recommend.
Had a Mini to trade in and thought just out of pure interest would like to see what we buy any car would offer us with the adverts saying "you can get a better deal on a new car when you don't have a part exchange" car was valued at £5500.00 (already below market value) and when my mother and partner took the car there they were met with "this is a grade 3 car" proceeding to say that the car was now worth £4500. But for this weekend only we could trade it in and get £5000 for it!
Please be aware if using this service you are not being given a fair price for your car. we have since part exchanged the car against another and received £5800.00 (Market value) with a very good discount against the new car.
As an ex motor trade employee i do have a passion for the industry and feel very strongly that the service given by this branch was not what we expected. There are other ways to get a good price for your car that mean you have much better service and are not mugged off!
The process of evaluating minor faults and the deductions from the valuation price given, for minor faults found, is a unfair system as it seems to be one fault fits all regardless of severity of the minor fault found. The fees charged after a deduction has been made should be reduced as you are now receiving less for the vehicle, the assessor of the vehicle hands are tied, this system needs reviewing. The staff at these locations are not given enough time to deal with customers, being allowed approximately only 20 min, this also should be reviewed, as the owners of we will buy your car, are making enough money from the resales of vehicles.
I have just sold my car to We Buy Any Car in Christchurch and would definitely recommend them. I was hesitant beforehand, expecting them to nit-pick at the price offered, especially after reading negative reviews, but Emma was lovely to deal with and negotiations were very fair. The whole process was quick and easy. If you are realistic about the value of your car then you won't be disappointed.
