Normally go to bbh chippy but will go here for now on. Service was great. Happy staff. Chips and battered sausage tasted lovely. Not a bad price compared to others either. Especially considering it tastes great. Thanks
We moved to Waddington 7 weeks ago. We have been to the Chip Stop three times. The first time we ordered one large cod which tasted very ‘fishy’.
I said at the time I wouldn’t buy again from there, but a few weeks later, due to convenience, we ordered three large cod, and they were truly very fresh and delicious.
Two days ago we ordered three regular cod, peas and chips. The fish unfortunately tasted like the first time: ‘fishy’ as in not fresh, and a hard texture.
If the owner reads this, he knows where the problem lies. The fish is either not fresh when fried, or the fish is from the day before and re-heated.
Needless to say, we won’t be buying from this establishment again.
Great cod pieces, especially the larger cod . Always good portions of chips in fact, too many.
Noticed lately not using boxes for fish , but doesn't bother me as always preferred paparazzi.
On last 2 occasions are fish has been very dry. Unusual for our favourite chip shop. Also had kebab other day about 5 chips with it. Come on guys need to improve.
I had a large chicken shish kebab… and it really didn’t disappoint. It was large, chicken was delicious, salad was fresh, it was prepared very quickly and it was priced fairly. What can I say? Definitely more visits there. Hopefully they maintain the standards on quality and service:)
This was the best Chipper. Always well cooked.
Sadly on the last three visits the fish has been dripping in fat. The chips are now very small, which is more than likely due to buying a smaller cheaper grade of potato. This is ok but greasy.
I think the fryer has changed, when the young guy was frying, the fish was perfect. Sorry to say wont be going again
The food was ok but mostly tasteless. We ordered chicken and Doner and were slightly disappointed with it. The Doner was dry and hard to chew on and the chicken had seasoning all over it which was tasteless and made it dry. The other times we tried was with other items in the menu like Doner and chips and were really good. Depends I guess.
Used to be a great chippy, and is still good if you go while the boss is there. Sadly, when he's not then the staff will ALWAYS get your order wrong even if you verbally confirm it as they pass it over the counter. Very frustrating to get home and find it wrong again, more so that it's your own fault as you know it will be but you went there anyway.
