I eat here every now and then and the flavour of the chips are really tasty.
However the biggest part of this review is that I attended a charity darts night at The Queen's head for a regular in there. He has just turned 40 and suffered a stroke... So all proceeds were going to help him.
Halfway through, platters of chips and battered sausages arrived for all to enjoy. As I understand it. They were offered and not asked for.
What a wonderful community spirit they have. Thank you!
Long day so just wanted a nice easy dinner take out of sausage and chips. This was anything but, grainy textured, weird flavoured overcooked battered sausage and scrappy chips overcooked. Dog ate the sausage, chips went in the bin. What a total waste of money. This used to be an AMAZING chippy but sadly it’s far from it now. Won’t bother again.
Bit hit and miss quality wise.
To be fair it is usually a hit however on this certain occasion it was definetly a miss. Everything was so dry and scorched it literally looked like it had been strapped to the front of a space shuttle during re-entry.
The portion sizes can be a little light for what you pay when compared to other places, but again this is not always the case.
Consistency issues aside, fairly decent.
As always The Chip Inn didn't disappoint. This time I had sausage and chips. The sausage was ok, but for me it's the Chips I just love the chips served here. This time I was in and out within 5 mins on a Friday at 6pm. Amazing service at such a busy time.
Really nice Fish&Chips very friendly service easy to order over the phone ordered for 6.25 arrived just after order was packed and ready ????
I arranged for 12 bikers to have supper here last Friday evening. I contacted the chip Inn via Facebook messenger, they were quick to respond and very helpful.
On arrival there was plenty of free parking at the rear of the shop and lots of outside seating/tables at the front.
Everyone commented how lovely the food was, no one was disappointed.
Only criticism was we were told the sweet treat trailer would be open but it wasn't.
Would we eat here again? Without a doubt.
We were on our way out for evening and decided to stop there ,the fish and chips were delicious
Had the large fish chips and sausage. The chips were very nice but over coloured, may have been the oil is old which bring me to the fish. It was cooked fresh and was piping hot, but the batter although very crispy was over coloured and didn’t taste great ( not like the chips). The sausage was just not the type I like so I can’t pass judgment.
The staff are friendly and I believe there is a restaurant there. Not sure I would return but could be a nice place to stop.
