Highly recommend. I’ve eaten at many Chinese restaurants in the UK and this one is among the top. The atmosphere and the service are standard but the important things are that all the dishes are good. The prawn fried rice are very good. During our two days in Fort William, we went to the restaurant three times :) so if you have a chance, you should try.
I was searching for a place for me and my partner to eat before we arrived for our anniversary and was honestly a bit put off by the reviews. Well today, we decided to chance it and I couldn’t sing their praises enough! The restaurant has nice decor, the staff are very friendly and the food is absolutely delicious, I think the best Chinese I’ve ever had. I can tell my partner enjoyed it as he barely spoke to me, only to tell me how good it was! We’re considering coming back here again before we leave, we enjoyed it that much!
Food was amazing, staff were so helpful and kind, service was very Quick. The restaurant could do with a bit of a fresh up it's tiered looking a bit dull inside . But if they spend a bit money on it . It could look amazing from the outside. And become the best place in Fort William.
We have lived in Fort William for a while and this was sadly our first visit to the restaurant. I say sadly because now we regret not going many times before. Wonderful place. Seated instantly with a great view of the Loch. Service was excellent. Drinks swiftly delivered and the food was ready in minutes piping hot and tasty as anything. 100% will be going back. Great place
Food was fine it’s what you expect and want from a Chinese. Service was fast but the owner actually argued with me. She brought the wrong dish to my friend and then said I didn’t order the chicken chow mein. I told her kindly I did and she kept arguing with me. Shocked that an owner would do that. Even when we went to paid she had such an attitude. Would not go again because of her. The girls working there were fantastic! Just the owner ruined it for us.
Rating Chinese Palace overall 3 stars. I would return but stay away from there peking dishes as is very very watery and tasteless. However my wife had shredded salt and pepper chicken with a side of curry sauce and the curry was good, nothing salt and pepper about the chicken but was also still good. Decent portion sizes. Rather pricey but I guess that come with the area.

Not quite Chinese atmosphere.
No settings on the tables.
Staff don't seem to have any uniforms ????
No table clothes only red plastic sort of cloth.
Staff seem OK just they don't seem to wait on you like other restaurants I've been in.
We had a banquet for 4 the food was just placed down infront of you and it was like saying there ya go help your self.
Young girls seem a bit rushed off there feet.
For £128.80 we have had better service.
Carry out service only which was disappointing as it appears to be only Chinese in town centre. The portions were smaller as they used rice size cartons for main course so we feel short changed. The chicken chow mein was mediocre and I could have produced better myself. I have had a sit in meal here in past and was good so why have their standards slipped? Please note owners that I'll try and avoid next time however it makes you think they know the passing trade is good enough so why try too hard!!
