Went fir the first time on a recommendation from a family member. Have since returned as the food was the best I have had from a Chinese in a very long time. Credit cards are not accepted but you can pay by phone. The beef with mushrooms is especially nice. Staff are pleasant and welcoming. Try it you won't be disappointed.
Just finished our Chinese takeaway from China Chef and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. We have tried multiple in the area and both China Chef and The Maltings are excellent. Great portion size tonight, fair price and fast service. Cannot ask for more. Dumplings and honey pork were top tier. Thank you very much
It's a basic take away but you can't fault it , but they only do cash folks !

Best Chinese takeaway I've ever eaten from. The small little back street takeaway looks nothing special but the food was fabulous. Top marks 100% flavour. Well done to the chefs and the staff. Great price for the food we ordered. Asked for spicy and got spicy. Really good quality ingredients. It opened at 4.45 on a Sunday. We came in at 5pm and we left 15 minutes later with top quality food. Thank you China Chef.
Food is always amazing, i dont even live in whittlesey anymore but when I come to visit my parents I make sure I grab a bite to eat here. The Lady owner is so friendly, makes you feel very welcome and a valued customer.
Wonderful food. Friendly service. Sweets on the counter is a brilliant extra plus. The honey roast pork and egg fried rice is delicious.
