I cannot tell you how bad this chinese was. I used to use this Chinese years ago when I lived in Woodford and it was always brilliant. What I had tonight was possibly the worst Chinese I have ever tasted very bland, tasteless and the crispy chilli chicken was the exact same sauce used to top the special chow mein which was supposed to be bbq. Really disappointed and would not use again
The girl on the telephone was very friendly. The food was excellent and very quick delivery.
Terrible customer service and very variable food quality. This place used to be good, but now they seem little worried about the quality of the food or looking after their customers. Although I have not been an ultra regular customer, I tend to order the same thing from the menu. However, for some reason they have decided it now not available (although they did not say why) and so I had to order something else. It was not good - very bland and unappealing. In terms of customer service, the woman on the counter did her best to be professional and polite. However, others are rude and dismissive. There are lots of other better outlets in Plympton which I will use in future, and I suggest you do the same.
Prices have gone up again and the food is very hit and miss compared to years ago. Always seem to skimp out on sauce with some dishes.
Food was ready in < 10 min after I ordered. Still hot after cycling home for 1.5 hrs. Chicken curry and veg curry were absolutely perfect. Awesome taste. Will come back for more! :)
Normally excellent but this time sweet and sour hong kong style chickrn ball chips were all bland.
Normally 5 star. Tried here again 2024. Problem sweet sour hong kong style chicken is in plastics better to be in foil when i got home sauce was setting
We recently moved back to Plympton and bought a house, we have been trying to find a good Chinese Takeaway, well tonight we tried the China Chef, well what can I say, we were looking for a good Chinese, but the China Chef is an absolutely outstanding Chinese, everything we loved about it, the kitchen buzz, the atmosphere, so many customers coming and going, the phone ringing off the hook and the food, wow absolutely delicious.
Don't take any notice of the negative reviews, looking at their profiling they are serial complainers wanting something for nothing and just complaining for the sake of complaining.
Our go to Chinese Takeaway now, no more searching. 5 Stars all day long. Well Done China Chef, you are a credit to Plympton, we will be back very soon for certain.
Was very nice but the Hong Kong chicken sweet and sour was a bit chewy.
