Best KPortal Reviews
Awesome food. This team put out incredible meals. All in a very small intimate kitchen that is open and on full display. Keeping the level of proficiency and professionalism while serving a full restaurant is an achievement any team should be proud of.
Cant reccomend this place enough.
Treated Dad to a Birthday High Tea at Cashleys.
The High Tea was amazing all 4 of us walked out full with our boxes with cakes.
We all had something different.
We all enjoyed out meal.
Sunday Beef Roast.
Steak Pie
Fish and Chips
Mac Cheese with Bacon
Me and my sister were there a few weeks back also. Out walking and went in at 7.30 for something to eat could not be more helpful and welcome.
Sister had a starter amazing and we both had Burger and I had a sweet.
Would highly recommend Cashleys
I have been a couple of times and the place is always clean and the staff friendly. However the food was really not to my liking. The skinny fries were super greasy, as were the gyoza and I had to leave them. The scrambled egg and sausage wrap seemed over cooked and again the loaded fries were just super greasy.
Outside the shop it says dog and child friendly so my daughter and myself took our 8 month old puppy in with us. Immediately the atmosphere changed and we got a horrible look from one of the waiters. We sat down and ordered our food and drinks. I found a black hair in my food which I brought to the waiters attention when he brought our hot drinks, which was when we were almost finished eating our food. There was no bowl of water put down for the puppy like other places do. Overall I got the feeling that they did not want dogs in their shop. The staff need to learn to give service with a smile ????. Food was OK and drinks were a bit cold. Won't be back in a hurry.
Overall, we had a disappointing family meal at the local restaurant. We booked for a table of 12 for my mum's birthday. We were the only table when we arrived. Another table of 2 arrived during our main course. There was a friendly informal server when we arrived though I got the impression he was not a formal waiter as he did not know much about the menu. He also disappeared after a short time. After this time, we were served by one of the kitchen staff. Obviously, this led to inadequate and slow service. The meals were served very slowly. We had no option to order more drinks throughout the meal. Our main course plates were not taken away after we finished and after waiting for a while we decided just to leave and get deserts at home.
Some comments about the food. We were told when we first arrived that there were no steaks. That reduced our options considerably. However, what surprised us was one of the diners at the other table was served a steak! We were told that they do not have tomato sauce. This is highly unusual for a restaurant that serves steak, burgers and chicken tenders with chips. One of our party member nipped down the road to a local shop and bought a bottle ketchup for the table. The food was okay but we felt it was very one dimensional. A lot of the dishes were served in a similar manner with the same dressings and toppings. The chips were a little greasy.
I would have wished that our experience was better but unfortunately it wasn't so. I understand how difficult it must be for the restaurant trade just now and we try and support local businesses. However, we would still expecting decent service and food. I tried to message the restaurant in the first instance for a response but have not received any reply.
Food was amazing and there were only 2 people in the kitchen and one person serving.
Well done to them all as worked really hard giving the best food and service.
Even though they were busy still had a can do attitude where nothing was too much - answering any questions asked.
Never been for an evening meal but after last night will definitely return ????
Had a lovely lunch. The chicken & bacon, beet wrap was lovely. A little too much mayo but nevertheless it tasted great. Spicy tomato soup was perfect. The place is bright & airy. The staff weren't 'on it'. They were nice & friendly but just something lacking. Nothing that would put me off, I just think a couple of them may need extra training. I will definitely be back, there was so much on the menu that I liked the look of. This is a great place in Forfar. The town has been lacking a nice place to eat with good food that's not pub food. Thank you.
The food is good, I will say however I have never been overly enamoured by the restaurant experience. On our last visit the only server was not attentive or maintaining the restaurant what so ever. Dirty tables bar one remained for the duration our meal, close to 1 hour. Two tables in when we arrived and then we were the only one left after around 20min. The girl at the till was more interested in chatting with someone else who came in and sat with her and overall there was no atmosphere and it's rather cold.
No beer selection. A can of tenants is piss poor.
Don't think we will be rushing back which is ashame.
