Carradale Harbour is a sad shadow of what it used to be. It once was a busy, vibrant harbour with a large fleet of herring fishing boats. Now it looks very tired, although it still holds very many happy memories from my childhood.
Not quite as picturesque as I was hoping it to be, and it doesn't look like it would be too great a place to berth your yacht. Also Carradale itself seems devoid of amenities.
Nice quiet little working harbour serving the local fisheries industry I thought it was picturesque looking towards the islands free car parking and toilets no cafe or food facilities
Lovely harbour with free toilets! And mysterious castle that l was standing in and never know too much undergrowth
Small beach, clean toilets, small fishing harbour and excellent Drumfearne Tea room/B&B nearby with home made scones, bread, cakes and much more. Worth a visit
Moored outside the harbour. Nice and sheltered from from the southerly swells and got me out the weather but the shop is closed for sale, next one is about 25min walk and same back. Pub was closed, I think it opens around 17:30, by then I was knackered. looks interesting for people that like to walk since there is some interesting looking trails through the woods.
Beautiful little village, awesome fishermen
Lovely place to visit. Plenty of parking and free.. Not a huge amount do to, but everytime we go it is clean and tidy. Great views are well worth it. And the people are amazing. We have been coming for over 20 years and enjoy it every time...
