Food is ok, although the pies were just warm and not hot,had to microwave them.Not open long enough,8pm is not ideal when you get home at 7pm from work.10pm would be better.
Chips are great though.
You may think £11.00 for cod and chips is expensive BUT the portion massive. A huge fillet of cod and plenty of chips. But most importantly they taste great. Worth every penny ????
Fast service. Perfect batter on quality fish, light & non greasy. Tasty chips. All in all a good meal.
Haddock was well cooked, crisp batter, plenty of chips, for two people, the only criticism would be the saveloy got cold quickly

captains is the nicest fish and chips around! best I’ve had for years , me and my partner had fish and chips from here. the food was lovely and freshly cooked it’s definitely worth the money as the prices are reasonable and affordable to!. I didn’t wait long ether. the staff are lovely and friendly i will definitely be coming back here I recommend captains if your looking for a delicious take out meal
First time trying out the new ownership since Henry's was taken over. The greeting I received was not very welcoming, the member of staff came across as disinterested, almost like I'd inconvenienced them by walking through the door. Perhaps they'd had a bad day, but still, not a good start.
I ordered fish and chips and sausage and chips, which I used to order a lot when Henry's was open. I have to say that the portions of fish and the chips were smaller than they were with Henry's. The sausage was basically the same as they used to be. We eagerly got home to eat it, but were disappointed by the taste and quality of the fish, and the chips and sausage were 'ok', but quite oily with excessive fat so could have been much better. Not sure if we'll go back as overall, we found the service and food underwhelming.
Lovely and hot fish n chips. Very friendly staff... Quick service. Very big portions. Well worth trying if you haven't been before... ????????
