great bacon sandwich which is stuffed to the brim.
staff dont greet guests at the takeaway spot, i stood at the window and just watched them cooking, it took 5 minutes before someone acknowledged me. It was quiet in the seated area. It was a very awkward experience.
Please address this as it's a shame to have such prime location but no real interest in clientele
Excellent cafe! Very helpful and cheerful staff. Good location. Excellent bacon sandwich. Good coffee! Well worth a visit.
Lovely view!
Coffee is great and the breakfast was really good too!
Veggie breakfast comes with bubble and squeak style sausages and the tomatoes really are lovely they aren't lying!
What an amazing place. Was very very busy but staff couldn't do more than enough to make your experience enjoyable. The poached eggs were amazing and perfectly cooked.
Great breakfast at Captain Morgan's. Greeted warmly & everything served swiftly, was very tasty!
The Food was atrocious, the smashed avocado on sour dough wasn’t presented on sour dough( although still charged for)
which I wasn’t Informed of until after i received the food. When I dared question It I was told ‘no one received sourdough with their orders’ as though that was somehow acceptable.
The scrambled eggs weren’t mixed correctly and were runny and vile. The price of £11 for what I received was insulting. Me and my partner agreed the service was abysmal and the food was somehow worse.
The attitude of the owners was woeful and overall I’d I could rate this 0 stars I would. Foul from start to finish. I demanded a refund which I received. The blasé arrogance of the staff was as confusing as it was disappointing.
The older ladies prepping the food who I believe to be the owners treated myself and others with contempt and utter disdain.
The worst attempt at food service I’ve ever experienced.
Mind blowing considering the location.
Anyone with half a brain or a modicum of respect for the customers hard earned money could turn this pit into a gold mine.
Abhorrent, avoid like the plague.
A real shame to see some negative press recently. We had a couple of absolutely delicious bacon sandwiches here last Thursday, lots of thick cut fried bacon and lovely fresh bread for £6 each. Well worth the money.
Service was excellent, the only reason I've given it 4 for atmosphere was due to the vulture-like gulls waiting to steal our food - sadly out of the control of the café staff..
We wanted a reasonably priced fish and chips and found Captain Morgan's Cafe on Fore Street using Google Maps.
The fish and chips was freshly cooked and very tasty. The fish was nicely battered and the chips tasted good too, with some of the potato skin left on for some extra texture and flavour.
We ate outside the cafe where the tables face the Salcombe Pier overlooking Salcombe Creek so a nice location to eat at.
Easy to find right in the centre of town.
