Waited 1 hour and 45 min. Called and was told 15 minutes, 15 minutes and my order never arrived. They refunded but as it was late not much point ordering anything else. Very poor which is a shame as the food is nice.
Order took over 2 hours to come and I couldn’t get through to them on the phone to chase my order up…however the food was so nice! Tasted really authentic. Wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger!
They wanted to charge me an extra £3.50 for delivery after I had already paid a delivery fee and a service fee. I feel like I have been scammed. Don't go phishing for extra cash! It's dishonest and I will never order from you again!
Tripping on the canal & stopped for food. Unfortunately the pub didn’t serve on a Monday. Found Canton city delivered, so placed an order to the pub to take back to the boat. The food arrived doubly quick. As for the quality!! A1 top class. Can’t fault this takeaway. Thank you.
Ordered a delivery at 7:41pm, advised due at 8:30 pm, this was then moved to 9pm- it is now 9:39pm (almost 2 hours since order and still not arrived!) I did phone prior to writing this review & was advised as my order was placed at a weekend, this was to be expected & no attempt to appease the frustration or prior customer loyalty- what a shame Canton City! You have certainly lost our custom when just an acknowledgement of the poor service & attempt to make good would have retained a loyal customer and prevented a poor review!
Food has generally been okay. We have often collected our orders and the food has always been ready quickly. The Hong Kong Sweet and Sour chicken is good.
We find Canton City one of the best Chinese takeaways in Tring, and have been coming here for a few years now. It's a small, unassuming place, not much to look at, and very little space to wait around inside, so usually phone & order ahead. Their food varies from average to very good depending on the dish, but always well cooked, very tasty, and pretty consistent, which is good if you have a few favourite dishes. Ordering can be a challenge sometimes, as there's one lady who can barely speak, or understand any English, and it's not always easy to park nearby. Service is usually pretty good, and never have to wait that long for our order.
Sorry to say this place has gone down hill over the past few weeks. The last 2 orders have had to go in the oven on arrival to heat up. To pay £6.30 for sesame prawn toast which was clearly 1 slice of thick bread with the topping on and cut into random pieces is just disgusting . I'm not sure what has happened to this restaurant but you have lost a loyal customer
