A beautiful peice of heaven getaway in the middle of the Scottish highlands, this stunning little place has 3 cottages available. A spacious loft room, an apartment like geound floor room and an outdoor wooden cottage. The owners are amazing and from day 1 they showed how kind and hospitable hosts they are. We arrived without the car on our first stay and not only did they pick us up when no taxis in the area would but they also had bacon, coffee, bread, butter and all sorts of other bits there for us when we arrived. This is our second visit now and i sit at the end of their driveway looking out over the field on the other side of the road. Its so peiceful here and its nothing like anything ive ever expected before in my time up and down the UK. I now consider the owners friends and have told them if were out and you need bits, just let us know and we'll pick them up. 1000% worth it, even for just a couple of nights. We fell in love with this place not just because of the place, but the people and the peace that comes with it. I cannot suggest this beautiful place more to anyone, just make sure you can drive, thats all ????????
????????????????????
We had to find somewhere near Tain for seven of us for two nights and were very fortunate to find Canterra Cottage in Tarrel. We arrived late one evening after flying in to Inverness and were welcomed by Cameron and Maureen who made tea and coffee and introduced us to their home. There are two double bedrooms in the house and a separate one bedroom apartment so ideal for us all to be together. Whilst Cameron (as the chef!) is happy to cook breakfast for 4, by the second morning he had planned for all 7 of us which was great. Freshly cooked and specific to each of us, breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day.||The rooms were clean and bright and ours on the first floor had a great view across open fields. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower was fab.||We were visiting for a funeral in Fearn Abbey which was a short drive away. We then went to Balintore which was a lovely area with a beach where we would have loved to have spent more time as well as Portmahomack. We visited the main town of Tain where there are bars and takeaways. ||On the second day we visited Dornoch across the firth. We spent time on the beach and walked around the town before heading to the airport for our flight home.||Our hosts were very accommodating and could not do enough for us. Definitely a place for us to return to in the future.
My friend and I stayed for 1 night. Cameron and Maureen went out of their way to make our stay welcomed and comfortable. I informed them via email about my dietary requirements and they went the extra mile to provide Gluten free cooked breakfast for me which is very much appreciated. The room is clean, bed comfortable, with coffee & tea making facility, biscuits and bottled water.
Cameron recommended where to go for our dinner - the Italian Touch at Portmohamack 2 miles away and offered to phone the restaurant and booked a table for us. We had a table by the window looking out to the amazing views. A very nice restaurant offering GF dishes.
Cameron cooked a superb breakfast and the breakfast room on the first floor provide amazing views. A very beautiful cottage with great hosts. Definitely and highly recommended place to stay.
Both my parents and i stayed in the very new Cottage in the grounds of the B and B. Its a 2 bedroom with a toilet and shower with cooking facilities, a small living room, proch, fridge etc. there is also ample parking. ||We have been frequent visitors to the area for 40 years and I was visiting to do some local cycling. This was the perfect base with lovely comfy beds and living arrangements which would suit couples or families with up to 2 kids.||The kitchen facilities were good for cooking but if you are eating out Tain and Portmahomack are short drives away.||The only thing I would be looking for is wifi but we were the first ever guests and there is a good 4g signal in the area and the host was working on getting this installed.||Really enjoyed my stay and would love to come back with my wife and daughter, especially at the very reasonable price we paid.
Great location, excellent hosts. Cameron and Maureen go the extra mile to ensure that you are pampered. Good location and cosy accommodation, roomy, comforable bedroom and home cooked breakfasts that don't dissapoint. Thanks C and M for your hospitality.
Thank you for the most amazing welcome and support. My disabled son Daniel and I have had the best holiday ever. Maureen and Cameron go that extra mile to make sure that everything is ok for you. The breakfast is just amazing, and all the help I was given is very much appreciated. Diolch am y croeso, Llinos a Daniel
Maureen+Cameron made us feel very welcome .best hosts ever .couldn't complain about anything ..breakfast was amazing.bed was so comfy .wine was good Maureen ????would recommend this B&B when visiting up north||Love Anne +Karl xx
Had a lovely three night break here whilst visiting the area.||Beautiful property with a warm homely feel.||Breakfast was great....hosts very friendly.||Only real issue for me was the room was mega hot! Could not have windows wide open as the beautiful honeysuckle outside the window was a magnet for dozens of bees....||Other than that, everything was spot on!
