Amazing pub, great food. I often go there for the food and a nice drink.
If you don't like sports, avoid on match days as it can be quite busy. On the other hand if you like sports it's a great atmosphere and they have all the screens you need.
Recently redecorated and with a new menu, the Cameo looks better than ever and the prices are so unbelievably good, especially for the breakfasts that are served all day at the weekend.
The only downside is the service, most of the staff seem courteous and one girl in particular seems very switched on, however the rest of the staff can be very slow and often need prompted for simple things like giving you the menu, taking your order and paying the bill. After sitting 20 minutes to make your order it is quite inappropriate for the staff to clear the table next to you even though the people are just putting down their cutlery, before coming to ask what you'd like.
The staff aside, if you are not in a hurry, this is a great place to relax and eat some food.
lovely bar, decor is amazing and the very relaxed atmosphere and comfortable seats just add to the bar credentials. good selection of beers on tap topped by real good service makes this bar a great spot for a quiet drink any time/day.
Lovely little bar in a lovely little cinema. The cameo bar is a great place to grab a drink before your film, but it's also lovely to just to stop by for a drink or a slice of delicious cake!
The staff are really friendly, and if you have a cameo card you get discounted prices, which is great for students.
Huge pub with lots of nooks and crannies to get comfortable in. Great deals on bar food. Nothing foraged and hipstery just good pub grub for a really decent price. Oh, they have great themed quiz nights too.
The food here is pretty terrible when you compare it to the Filmhouse but if you just want a bit of cake or a panini then you won't be too disappointed. There are a few comfy sofas and the staff are friendly if not the fastest to serve you. Go with low expectations and you'll come away happy.
Went there a month ago while on holidays to Scotland from Australia. Meals were a good size and nicely cooked and presented. A little person behind the bar however was probably the rudest poerson we'd met in the UK. After giving me the dregs from a keg that was clearly finished, I ventured that the beer was flat and told me 'Thats how is comes here'.....Now I've drunk enough beer to know a flat beer and met enough smart ar$es to pick one a kilometre off and lucky me, I found both in the same place. Generally staff are good but this one person soured my experience enough to follow up and complain here. I hope you're now out of work, the Cameo Bar can do without you.

There are many things I could write about the Cameo Bar's dodgy service, cheapish prices, and inconsistent food, but one experience always comes to mind when I think of the place.
I ordered Eggs Benedict, a favourite of mine, and settled into one of the bar's comfy chairs to soak up the ambience and chat with my wife. What later arrived makes me laugh out loud to this day. For those not in the know, Eggs Benedict is traditionally made with two halves of a toasted English muffin topped with ham or bacon, a poached egg, and Hollandaise sauce. The chef at the time was clearly not quite aware of this. The dish I received had an American muffin as a base -- all sweet and cupcakey -- haphazardly covered in bacon, egg, and sauce. It was certainly a bizarre taste sensation.
We left the place laughing.
