I recently took my bike a new to me a Triumph Speed Triple to Mike at Calne Motorcycles and requested a service and check the bike out fully. He said he would do a thorough check as quote ‘it is important that the bike is safe so will make sure it’s good’ The bike was returned to me at home off the van and I rolled it in to my garage. A couple of weeks later I used it for the first and thought would treat the bike to a suspension setup at Castle Combe. To my shock this wasn’t possible as the rear suspension was completely seized. I messaged Mike about my discovery and questioned what work was actually carried out, he read the message but didn’t reply to it or the following voicemails and subsequent text. I only live around the corner from the workshop so have called up to discuss with Mike but he is never there and I question what works he actually does as when I have previously visited prior to this incident I have never seen him working on bikes which for a one man band seems strange.
He said he had ordered a relay for the bike to fix the heated grips which he charged me for but not been done.
As I said I have tried to get communication going before writing this review but he clearly has no interest and treats customers with complete contempt (sadly I should have headed the feedback of other customers that have left very negative reviews and have a very similar pattern I behaviour).
In this day and age I fine it incredible that any business can operate or survive this way, I have reported this to Trading Standards.

Mike gave me some excellent tips and brought the bike back to me at home once MOT’d.
I would definitely recommend this business.
Mike did a brilliant job on my son's motorbike, came out the same day I called him and fixed it, the following day, when another garage couldn't even find the problem after numerous attempts. Fully recommend ????
Very cheap and quick for a valve clearance check, I've dropped my bike on Friday and was ready Monday. After i collected it i went for a short ride to check everything was ok but after 1 mile os so, my mirror fell off. As he wasn't at the shop when i collected my bike, he was out for a breakdown bike, I've got back home and i took it apart to see if any nut is loose but surprisingly the metal arm was broken from the folding mechanism and i could actually see that the fracture was new and someone tried to glue it back. Who could it be if isn't me. My bike is always garaged and i can say for sure the mirror was absolutely fine when i left the bike there.
Because i can't argue he did it i had to pay £140 for a new arm from Honda.
Also my neighbour had his bike serviced there and i know from him that he wasn't happy at all, but even i know the story i won't coment what actually happened.
Mike looks like a nice guy i can say that but i will never use his service in my life.
If I could give less than one star I would. Dropped by bike off as it needed a new carb. Was told weekly that he'd have the parts next week. 3 months later and he still didn't have them - after lying consistently to me. Ended up taking my bike from them (still completely untouched) after 3 months of no contact from the garage. I ordered a new carb online from a Chinese website (the same he said he used) and it took 2 days to come......
I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. Had smoke blown up my arse continually for 3 months. Absolute con-merchant. Cheers Mike x
Took my bike for its first interim service, was super happy with the "service while you wait" option as I need my bike for work. Mike was very friendly, professional and did all the necessary checks with precision and care. Even took the time to have a good old chin wag after the service was complete and my book was stamped. I highly recommend to anyone unsure about where to go to have your bike serviced, repaired or just gather some info if you are chasing the bike of your dreams.
Will be having all my services and repairs done here in future.
Could not rate Mike highly enough. The rear brake calliper on my Yamaha seized solid. Mike came and collected the bike, repaired it all and did a full service at the same time. Have since had the MOT on the bike done, and they even delivered the bike home for me for free. Amazing service, friendly and genuine.
Brilliant Service and can't rate highly enough; used for fork seal repair following MOT failure due to leakage, not only were the seals replaced but Mike took the bike back for its MOT and then delivered back to my door on a Saturday morning! no additional or hidden costs, just pay for the work and parts. We've been missing this kind of friendly, honest, reliable, service dedicated for bikes in Calne for a while now, which is surprising considering the annual hosting of the bike meet. I'll be using for everything needed on my bike in the future and have recommended to friends already.
