Foods superb, my go too Indian, Mo and Co make you feel most welcome. They will adjust meals to suit your taste hot or not. A wee gem in the middle of the countryside.

On our way to to The Lonach Gathering we discovered Insch. We stayed up the road just a bit but on Friday night we ended up at the Commerical Hotel bar next door and met Mike, who treated us to a dram of his favorite Scotch whiskey, Fantastic company, thanks for sharing Mike! We then ate at Mint next door and I had the best Chicken Saag I've ever had, and our host Mo was wonderful. A gem in Insch, if you find yourself passing through please check it out and meet the lucky locals who call it home!
Sadly disappointing. I'd seen several good reviews and heard friends speak of this take away so thought I'd give it a go again. I tried it a year ago or so and wasn't impressed but after hearing good things I assumed the chef had changed. Food here isn't like other Indian restaurants. I won't be going back. The onion bahjis were onion and some kind of pepper squashed and fried lightly. Might be ok if you weren't expecting the type of onion bahjii all other Indian takeaways do but these didn't taste nice. My curry was overly sweet with mountains of cream. Very disappointed. I usually have a Chinese from rainbow and they are consistent with good quality. I thought I'd give this place a try but unfortunately I regret it and won't try for a 3rd time. I don't normally write reviews butbut w others to know before they make a decision. The only plus was the gentleman who served me was very pleasant.
Overall food was bland. I had lamb tikka masala and the lamb was stewed or boiled not tender and tandoori style like it should be. The special fried rice had no flavour and was watery. Inside the "restaurant" upholstery was dirty and worn. Just a very unappealing place in general, was very disappointed. Could not hold even minimal competition to the likes of Rajpoot or Nazma.
There are 10/10 Indian takeaways in inverurie so best to avoid this one and make the trip a little further.
Can't fault a thing with Cafe Mint. We always eat in and have a chat with Mo, although the take away always seems really busy as well. Wouldn't expect anything else as the food is fantastic. Cheers guys
Great little Indian restaurant. The food is always excellent - recommend the Lamb Sylheti special. Staff are always brilliant. Highly recommend a visit if you haven't been before and if you can't stay, have a take-away!
Just had a really tasty carry out. All dishes were cooked to perfection and the lamb was so tender. Definitely recommend Cafe Mint
