When I passed by before, I thought it was nice and wanted to come here. Today I was able to take the opportunity to come in because it was so windy and snowy outside. I was so happy to enjoy brunch in such a lovely place, and the staff was so kind to help me charge my phone!
First visit today for a bit of lunch. What a lovely authentic Cafe. A wee bit expensive BUT the quality is definitely worth it ! Great variety of food and coffee was amazing. Will be back soon. Staff were also very pleasant. Very laid back , relaxed atmosphere ????
I've been coming in for coffee and breakfast for a few months now while my husband is at The Beatson. Lovely atmosphere even when I'm the only one in. Clean, tidy and pleasant easy listening music. Food delicious.
My friend and I were in for lunch last Thursday.
We have been once before and the food and service was good, unfortunately on this occasion the service was absolutely appalling.
We had a young man serve us, who, although,very pleasant was absolutely inept at his job.
I would guess it was a lack or zero training and experience. He brought the food out one plate at a time minus cutlery, he then fetched my cutlery but didn’t bring my friend hers, we asked for cutlery which he said he would get but then wandered off to serve another table, we eventually got my friend her cutlery.
When we had finished we wanted to order some cake and coffee. Still with dirty plates in front of us I asked the female waiting staff if we could order and was told she'd be "back in a minute "
She vigorously ignored us and eventually we asked the young man for coffee and cake. It came, eventually, but still had diry plates I front of us, the female member of staff asked if we had finished, it was blatantly obvious we were finished.
My friend decided to order a piece of tart to take to her sister in hospital.
I watched in astonishment as the young man cut in half an already tiny piece of tart in half.
He brought the tart boxed up to the table, when I opened the box and asked him if he seriously expected us to pay for literally a slither of tart, he appeared shocked as if someone else had served this up.
When I asked for the bill I was told to go stand at the counter (the rude female waitress) despite everyone else being brought their bill.
It's been a very long time since I've experienced such bad service.
Suffice to say it ruined the whole lunch and I will not be back.
Lovely cafe situated in a great part of Byres road. Great food and friendly service.
Went in near closing time, the staff was so patient! Great variety of sweet and savoury. The cappuccino was really good and strong, and the interior is very nice.
Delicious food, need to go early as gets very busy. A chic hotspot. Good pricing for quality. Very cute and makes me feel like a petit little French woman. If only they allowed indoor smoking I could really fulfil my quaint sexy french tragedy fantasy ????
This place is just about ok for coffee and cake but don't go here for a meal, whether breakfast or lunch. Huevos rancheros was an embarrassment, and looked nothing like the picture on the menu. Poor quality ingredients poorly prepared. The hollandaise sauce on eggs benedict was the worst we've ever had - a congealed lump. Pancakes needed a chainsaw to cut through and the ice cream was the meanest single scoop of the cheapest supermarket quality. We asked for water three times from the waiting staff before we eventually got it. The impression is that the owner takes no pride in what's on offer and is just raking it in thanks to its position on Byres Rd. Best avoided.
