Our "local" for the week (quick pre-Easter week off) and it's obvious that the Bullers is many things to many people. Dog friendly (the pub dog, Purdey, seems to be known to all) to the extent that one of the locals came around and asked if we minded his own dog being let off the lead (after Purdey's bed time of course) and a focal point for locals it is still obliging enough of us parachuted in drinkers to make us feel welcome. Food comes by way of a takeaway van this week (I could have easily eaten his jerk chicken given how good it smelt if I hadn't already stuffed myself at the bistro at Tintagel Brewery an hour earlier) so I'm guessing they don't do food out of season though the board outside was advertising Sunday lunch. Beer was well kept (nothing special but the Proper Job I had was spot on). The first evening we were in they had the log fire going so it was real cosy on the sofas but our return this evening though still cordial was cooler since the wood burner was not ablaze. Nice though - worth dropping in if you're on the way through.
Lovely place in a quiet village, with a very well preserved rustic style.
Very causy local pub on the way home, nice lady serving at the bar. Unfortunately, the kitchen was not open on Sunday afternoon :/
Popped in for a quick drink while visiting family. Lovely pub, friendly lad behind the bar. Nice range of drinks. I had pineapple cider! It was lovely
Nice village pub with good selection of beers, ciders and wine. The sheep dog whisky is legendary! Sam is lovely and welcoming AND it has a pool table. No food though - although takeaways can been delivered and eaten inside ????
Me and my family moved to the village 6 years ago and were welcomed into the pub with open arms by the lovely locals and bar staff. The Bullers is a lovely atmosphere, dog friendly and they have some brilliant live music here. Would definitely recommend this homely village pub! :)
Maybe time for a make over. No hand pulled beer when we visited (08.19). But can see it's potential in a growing village.
I had an amazing time, this pub has great atmosphere and an amazing staff. If you are in the area this pub is worth every penny. Please give it a try!
