First time visiting buckland hospital and I was very impressed!
Went for a CT scan and was in and out within minutes.
The receptionists and nurses were very friendly, caring and helpful.
Clean and modern facilities all round and plenty of toilets.
Visited for an MRI, they suggest you arrive early to fill in the form. I was greeted at main reception and was walked round to a cubicle to take off jewellery, hair grips etc. They checked I would be OK in the scanner and explained safety measures. Afterwards I put my stuff back on in the cubicle, and was able to leave.
This is located in what is perhaps the most deprived area in Kent and the reception staff are clearly products of their environment. They were out smoking in the front of the hospital more than they were doing their job. My partner and baby were waiting for over 2 hours due to poor organisational skills of the uneducated staff. please stay clear of this hospital at all coats! 2 stars for the good staff here, whoever they are.
Parking extortionate, street parking is by phone app. Hospital car park is pay up front, with both options you have no idea how long your wait might be so you end up over paying as you can't go back to get another ticket. Minimum payment (up to 1 hour) £2.00. Personally I don't think hospital patients should pay to park, but this system means you always pay for more than you need which is unfair.
lovely people all round in this department. totally nice team and deserve the highest praise, for the complete team. wonderful. wonderful!! Thank you everybody. MR Kenneth Pope
The worst experience! My other half contacted Buckland at 8am this morning to be greeted by a receptionist stating that they do not do re-dressings during the week and only on weekends and she must contact her GP surgery. GP as though had no spare slots for 3 weeks. Due to the surgery she needed to get her wound re-dressed every other day. As there was no slots and no other option she walked into Buckland where the same receptionist greeted her with "I told you on the phone that we don't do dressings and you need to arrange this somewhere else" (Great help). When speaking to the nurse, she finally agreed that they would redress and pack her wound. So after a 2 and half hour wait she finally was asked to come through. When she was in the ward she asked for some Gas and Air to reduce the pain she was in. Nurse again was unwilling to use this (it had to be asked for 3 times). Whilst the procedure was going she asked the nurse if she could go slower as the pain was getting unbearable. Nurse said "if I go any slower, we will be here all day" in a sarcastic tone. (Which I'm sure you want to hear whilst in agonising pain). The nurse then walked out of the room and she could be heard speaking to another nurse "She just has a low pain threshold and is making the most of it". (Baring in mind she has had 2 children). She was bought to tears with the pain and the uncaring nature of both the receptionist and the nurse on duty. Not what you would expect from a place where you are meant to be cared for and looked after. She has to go and get this packed daily and she sobbed "I never want to walk into that place again, so uncaring and made me feel like a burden". In all of this there is one positive, the Student nurse who was supposedly the one with least experience gave the most compassion and was the only person in the whole clinic to actually care and ask if she was okay.
Very bad experience 1 out of 10!!!
not long waits when you go at night but normal long waits during day. a good hospital but as i mentioned a long wait. the cleanliness is good. the doctor are good and understandable and the hospital is good overall.
Excellent service from the much maligned NHS! You have to pay to park nearby which should not be but it is, so allow plenty of time. Good shop here.exgellent service from the NHS staff through out.
