I'm registered patient at this clinic. I had an appointment this week and we're seen on time.
Arrived a little early for my appointment took a look around the waiting room. It seemed to be students and young people who hadn't bovver registering with a doctor in the area. If you go to this clinic without an appointment you will have a long wait, it's just like A&E. No point in moaning about it. Just sit there and wait your turn.
Visited Saturday morning (arrived before 8) and grateful to have access to primary care on weekend (well anytime given current appalling state of GP care in the UK now). Was treated respectfully and with care for a very bad ear infection. Had to probe doctor for info on how long the prescribed drops might take to work as they had said oral antibiotics might be needed. Definitely a quick in and out consultation which sufficed for the issue. Just a shame that these are the only places anyone can seem to get in for primary care. Ear not improved and so despite having a registered GP, can’t book appt with them and so will be back here for 8 in hope of getting oral antibiotics. Edit: reduced to tears when I went back to get oral antibiotics due to the rude, dismissive person I saw. Reluctantly gave me script saying they won’t work anyway. Well- they did and 24hrs later a significant improvement.
Do not recommend going here.
My girlfriend suffers from frequent chest infections and she started feeling like it was coming on again, so we went to the walk in and arrived at about 14:30. We weren’t seen until 17:30. A wait time is to be expected, however the service we received was NOT worth the wait OR the patience we had to have. The examiner we saw was rude and condescending, treated us like we were just young and clueless about health, just because we were telling him what we THOUGHT it MIGHT be. He tested the oxygen levels three times on three different fingers, TWO of which were below average, but the third was fine and so he took that as his measurement! He basically ended up saying that she’s fine and just needs paracetamol. I’ve been here on multiple occasions and they ALWAYS send me away with nothing, no advice or help, and so I challenged it, and said is there nothing you can give here for this? I said I’d seen her go through this before and it’s extremely tough for her to deal with. He responded with “cant prescribe anything for a cold ????????♂️”. I said what about the fever then? He responded with “paracetamol” and an eye roll which I just thought was rude. The notes he gave consisted of describing that she was able to talk and walk, and that she was “keen on inhaler” after we mentioned she’d been given them for this before.
Now we are BOTH bed bound with a fever, temperature, achy joints, and an intense dry cough, missing work and uni. Wouldn’t give us a doctors note for those either.
It was very clear to me the examiner we had just wanted to get through as many patients as he could and get home, and we were left with nothing.
Had a pretty decent experience here yesterday! The receptionists were lovely and my doctor was very efficient :). I had a walk in appointment, full well knowing that the wait time would be very long. But, I was seen in under two hours! I think despite everything, budget cuts and the government failing the NHS, they’ve made the best they can out of a very poor situation. Would definitely go again if I needed to
I went to the walk in clinic as I was in a lot of pain with my throat, I waited around an hour and a half to be seen which is to be expected so I did not have a problem with the wait at all. However, by the time I was seen it was after 7 and the clinic closes at 8. My interaction with the doctor felt very rushed and I was seen for less than 5 minutes which left me feeling like the doctor just wanted to get home. I explained how I was taking paracetamol and Ibuprofen to ease the pain but it seemed like they were not working, I explained how I was up and down through the night and I had not been able to sleep the past few days, with the pain also effecting my ears. The doctor looked in my throat and ears and said they both looked clear and just told me to carry on taking the paracetamol and Ibuprofen and said that I know my body so if it gets worse I should go and see another doctor. I was left feeling annoyed as the whole reason I went there was because I was in horrible pain. As I wanted a second opinion I went to the pharmacy the next morning and they could see how red and swollen the back of my throat was and provided anti-biotics straight away. I struggle to believe that a drastic change happened over night and why the doctor at the clinic did not pick up on the redness/swelling straight away in the appointment. I have read several other reviews on here where people have had a similar situations and then when they got their second opinion it turned out to be something quite serious. If you go to this clinic it may be worth going as soon as it opens as it seems like people have had better experiences in the day than the evening, hopefully then you will not feel like your appointment is rushed.
My friend just went in to the clinic with tonsillitis and was seen for only a minute. The doctor she saw was rude and insensitive, and she left crying. She has been in immense pain for days and is now too upset to go back to the clinic and see another doctor. The doctor was male, 6 foot, dark balding hair. She will be submitting a formal complaint.
Besides waiting times (which can be reduced by coming earlier) can’t say anything negative from my experience with my case. Staff and doctor were absolutely friendly, helpful and professional.
My mother came in today for assistance with an ear infection. The attending assistant was extraordinarily rude, unhelpful, and has essentially guaranteed we will never utilize this location in the future. I would highly recommend better training for your staff, if I could give zero stars I would have.
