Tucked away on a quiet side street just off Trafalgar Square, Breadline Cafe might not grab your attention with fancy decor or a trendy menu. But step inside this unassuming gem, and you'll be rewarded with a hearty, no-nonsense breakfast that's guaranteed to warm your soul (and fill your belly!).
I recently popped in for a weekday morning refuel, drawn in by the promise of a classic English breakfast! Sausage and bacon with generous heap of baked beans, accompanied with a nicely fried egg with two slices of toasted bread to mop up every last bit of deliciousness on the plate.
It wasn't fancy, but it was honest, hearty food that filled me with a deep sense of satisfaction.
Of course, no English breakfast is complete without a proper cuppa. Breadline Cafe serves up a strong, steaming mug of tea, just the right astringency to cut through the richness of the food and leave you feeling refreshed.
The atmosphere at Breadline Cafe is equally unpretentious. It's a small, no-frills space with mismatched tables and chairs, giving it a warm and welcoming vibe. The service is friendly and efficient, adding to the overall feeling of a neighborhood gem.
For the price (I paid under £10 for my breakfast), you won't find a better value in central London. This is a place where you can go for a no-nonsense, delicious breakfast that won't break the bank. It's not about trendy dishes or Instagrammable interiors; it's about good, honest food served with a smile.
Great cafe. Now I know where the Midwest USA diner culture started. This place was clean and friendly. Food was delious and adorable. Seems like a local establishment. Enter and pick a table. Once ready order and pay at counter and wait for drink before sitting to be served. Please respect the establishment not overstaying and holding off other potential customers. The place is small and turnover is probably greatly appreciated.
A surprisingly "normal" non-touristy cafe for the location - regular-people food within sight of Trafalgar Square and not an avocado toast in sight. I guess even construction workers and cab drivers have to eat somewhere in the area.... Genuine proper English breakfast at a good price. Well worth a visit.
Great small Café where you get tasty food for a very reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and supportive. We enjoyed our English Breakfast and sandwiches very much. Thanks a lot
We had late breakfast here. The food was good. The coffee was really good
When I asked some construction blokes in Trafalgar square where's a good caff for a full English they sent me here. Food was so spot on I ended up having two! They've got cute little seating outside if you like watching the crowds walk by while sipping a great cuppa. Plus with such a mix of locals you just know they're here for the food and simplicity.
Firstly I’ve had my fair share of fried English breakfast. I’m english. This is probably up there with the worst I’ve ever had.
For £11 you get:
1 x small sausage
Bacon
Beans
Egg
Toast and tea or coffee.
Chips
There’s no option for extras. Where’s the mushroom, tomato, black pudding, hash brown, bubble?
The sausages are cheap frozen sausages which contain rubbish, bits of bone etc.
the bacon is extremely fatty, cheap baked beans and wafer thin bread. The tea and coffee was okay, but we didn’t come here for the tea and coffee.
The location of the cafe is prime but lacks any character and the customer service is non existent (except form taking you order).
Save your money and get a bus to the Regency cafe.
AVOID THIS PLACE. Unless you’re starving and have zero standards.
It’s a small spot but with an excellent English breakfast and very tasty tea. The owner knows virtually everyone who comes in who were all visitors so they had been once and kept coming back. It’s unassuming with friendly staff with great affordable and tasty food.
