The shop is an Aladdin cave of useful household goods and tasty snacks. It caters for the usual bread, milk and newspapers to pet foods, baked or chilled foods. Mike and his shop are the hub of the surrounding area, providing a friendly stop off for anyone in need of some home essentials, a cuppa and roundup of local news.
I think this place is wonderful. If you want a sparkling store packed to the gunwales with goodies, this is not the store for you, but if you want a genuine village store with character, and kept running by the total dedication of the owner, then you will appreciate Bramshaw Village Store. It does have all the basic staple foods, by the way, and chocolate bars and newspapers. In short - a typical village store.
There are picnic tables outside. The first time that I went there I was on bicycle, and sat down at the picnic table, it was the time of year that they release the pigs so that they can eat the acorns. This is called pannage and has been done since the Middle Ages. Anyway, the pigs just roam up and down the road eating the acorns in the grass verges. As I sat at my picnic table, I had about three pigs snuffling around my table looking for food. The shop owner told me that they would appear at at the door of the shop and would have come in if he had not shooed them away.
An amazing shop always very helpful nothing to much bother if he hasn't got it. He will always get it for you. Very pleasant atmosphere always friendly
The proprietor always smiles when he takes money off you, and his lemon Drizzle cakes are very good, if you ever need carrots he’s got loads, and Alex and Neil enjoy his chocolate selection ..
Very nice manager who is keen to keep the shop looking clean and stocked. They mostly only have food items but there are plenty of sweets!
The Village Store in Bramshaw has what you need. A local owned shop with a guide who knows everything and everyone in the area. Highly recommended.
Interesting little store, has most things people would need. Proprietor is a lovely man ready to chat, help and advise.
