Was expecting bakery goods but it's more of a sandwich shop. Picked up a brownie that was ironically bagged in a packet that said "perfectly baked" but was hard as a rock.
Didn't feel welcoming due to the masks, gloves that touch money/tills/food/tools/etc (far more hygienic to just wash your hands regularly) and big plastic screens when other shops in the area don't require these things. The lady on the counter was pleasant, that was the only saving grace.
UPDATE FOR RESPONSE :
I did not have time to stick around and discuss the matter. I understand your issue with food waste but the downside to this practice is that your customers do not get a consistent experience. There is little to no logic in wearing gloves that touch everything your bare hands would, unless they are changed between every customer, which was not the case when I visited. In my opinion, wearing gloves gives me the impression that the worker has been handling waste/bins, it is rather unappealing but that is just my opinion.

Burnt
Bought two sausage rolls and a bottle of water, where the sausage roll, was burnt, warmish and tasteless.
The best mince pies in Congleton. They make me look forward to winter.
Picked my xmas order today as usual organized everything looks great had a sneaky turkey and stuffing sandwich delicious friendly efficient staff
Excellent local bakery, good variety of home baked pies, cakes etc. Also very nice cooked meats, usually ham, pork and beef. Also very popular sandwiches made on the spot.
Only slight downside is they are a little slow; for that reason would have given 4.5 rating if possible.
My wife and I enjoyed a 1st class sandwich and cup of tea at this establishment on Tuesday 12th September. If only other businesses made you feel as welcome as the gentleman who runs this one we would really be world class as a nation of shopkeepers. Thank you very much.
Delicious cooked meats, and freshly baked bread, at a reasonable price. ????
A little bit antiquated and still only open three days a week after a long period of closure during lockdown. Not sure if they take cards now, they certainly never used to, but their baps and other items are delicious and the staff are always very friendly
