Had an amazing huge meal here. Fish and chips were lovely, cod loin I could eat all over again. Dad loved the pie and said they should bottle the gravy. Had a bit of a wait but it showed everything was cooked fresh and worth it. Would definitely eat here again.
The Blacksmiths Arms is a very warm and welcoming pub. Staff and regulars were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Very dog friendly, we had our two little dogs with us and had dinner in the cosy dog friendly part of the restaurant. My partner who has the steak and ale pie said it was one of the best pies he has ever had and a very good pint of Guinness with it too.
We are just on holiday for a long weekend, but definitely would be a regular pub for us if we were local. Would highly recommend!
Saw the sign whilst driving through the wolds and decided to call in for lunch. Staff very accommodating. We had dogs and a wheelchair user with us but access was straightforward. Food was unanimously enjoyed, the burger was excellent. We also had the carbonara, scampi and hunters chicken. We’ll worth a visit.
My partner called and we got in at 14.30 for Sunday lunch, when we got there the bar area had a few people in. The open fire was going and it was very pleasant. Greeted by the staff that knew my partner and we were quickly shown to our table. We waited a good few minutes for someone to take our order. But when the food arrived it was amazing. Good service great food.
This is an absolute gem of a find which was highly recommended via the “ Nextdoor” site. It’s a traditional village pub that retains its’ atmosphere with plenty of space for all.. & sympathetically retained for “ regulars”.. there is a lovely toughened glass well which within the area leading to the main dining area . The main dining area is spacious & airy overlooking great views… The menu has a wide range of starters mains & desserts, all cooked from scratch using locally sourced products. Great portions & you can really tell the fact that they’ve been freshly prepared, covering all dietary needs. The children’s’ menu is excellent too. The lady who tended to us ( Sarah?) was knowledgeable, very very welcoming & attentive without being too pushy ( i.e not continually asking if everything was alright/any more drinks etc). She even provided a colouring book & crayons for the youngster in our group. An all round delightful delicious experience.
Had a small family reunion meal, service and staff interaction was excellent all friendly. The food was wonderful,we all had a different meal , will be going back again.
They couldn't have been kinder! It was late and a bit far to drive back. They're dog friendly, let us in, and quickly prepared an excellent piece of chicken for my dog. He had lots of fuss. Hopefully, we'll be back soon.
Fish and chips for Good Friday were the business. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Will definitely book again.
