Rang this morning for my mother who was having some issues. A clinician came to her house within a couple of hours and has started to sort out her particular issue. The receptionist could not have been more helpful, friendly and professional. The chap who visited was considerate and kind. This is amazing service and you are all very much appreciated. Thank you.
My wife came out of hospital on Saturday the 24th of February. I contacted the surgery on Wednesday 28th of February to arrange for her new prescription to be told the pharmacist would be in contact with me ghat day to approve the medication. No contact was made so I rang the following day Thursday 29th of February to be told the same that the pharmacist would be in contact with me that day. Later that day I received a text from the practice to apologise for the failed telephone appointments, that the pharmacist was of sick and they made a new appointment for the 19th March. My wife runs out of medication the 9th of March so she could be dead by the time I get to speak to someone to approve her revised medication.
The practice has no effective management.
I had a query about my prescription, that is half of it was missing. The person on the phone stated date of birth, I assume it was a question, then when I answered I was put on hold for 15 minutes, maybe more, and got an immediate apology, and then told it was my fault about the presciption! Never had a problem before, so today was disappointing.
We registered in Birchwood medical practice as a family and reached out to this medical practice after so many follow up for my
Kid skin problem.
Intially doctor diagnosed it wrongly and after many follow up this medical practice referred online mobile application My Skin Doctor. Review of many people about my Skin Doctor app is very very pathetic and after submitting photos in the app it’s not reviewed on time and don’t know who the doctor is and how they diagnose and treat and how to follow up further is miserable .
Instead we should be able to pay private dermatologist and spend few hundred pounds to get the treatment done rather than going through such pain .
Whats the reason for NHS What’s wrong with this medical practice and why can’t refer a proper dermatologist by considering its kids future .
Am really worried about no humanity of treating kids on time in this medical practice and redirecting to online unknown doctors to diagnose skin condition of a kid is pathetic without proper blood test etc .. very very very poor service

please refer dermatologist to diagnose the problem with proper investigation on time.
I believe this is the reason we have NHS .
I am not sure what is really concerning to check kids health in timely manner rather than referring mobile based app unknown doctors . Who would like to take such risk by applying what type of diagnosis taken and what medicine prescribed is right without checking what’s the deficiency in the vitamins etc
I’ve been coming here for years and I have a fear of needles and needed a blood test and was given one the same day of my appointment and Becky the lady who took my blood is amazing she took my blood within seconds with no pain and also put me at ease and she has literally taken my fear away…if you have a fear of needles ask for Becky ????????♥️ also all the receptionist don’t get enough credit. They are very helpful and do the best they can to help you…even when it’s out of their hands. I think if you are someone who is “hard work” or abit stressed you can seem to take it out on these ladies but really they are all so amazing I’ve never had a problem in 10 yrs and if I have it’s always because I myself have been hard work and not understanding and I realise that. These woman at front desk do their upmost best and I love them for it xxxx
Absolutely fantastic service at Birchwood Medical. The receptionist are always very helpful and go above and beyond to support patients. All doctors and nursery are great , thorough and give the time needed. I never feel rushed or that I’m wasting their time which I have done at many other surgeries. All round great management and it is always such an easy and pleasant process no matter the situation. Thank you all so much for your hard work and support.
I can get an appointment when I need one. The receptionists are very helpful and friendly. The nurses and practitioners are competent and reassuring. The doctors are lovely. My repeat prescriptions are attended to immediately. I would recommend this practice. Too many folk are quick to moan but few highlight the positives. Thank you, Birchwood for being there when needed.
Doctor Davies was outstanding and most caring for my
mother today . And me as she is quite ill.
