What a disappointment!!
Visited the Mill several months ago and gave 4 stars.
Visited again this weekend and was shocked at what I saw.
1: Manager interviewing a prospective employee sitting at a table next to us. We heard every word and felt uncomfortable.
2: Food delivered using a filthy dish cloth - wish I could have got a decent pic.
3: Food delivered to table by staff dressed slovenly with trousers dropping down and shirt half tucked in. Half the staff had uniforms and looked smart, but the two delivering food were extermly untidy.
What a shambles!!!

Not enough bar staff ! Had to wait 10 - 15 mins just to get a drink. Food menu would seem to be good value until the quality becomes apparent. Dry chicken on the mini mixed grill and a rump steak that was supposed to be 'medium' was bleeding all over the plate as well as being tough enough to make your jaw ache ! Usual frozen deep fried 'catering' chips ( probably all sourced from the local Bookers wholesale ). Flies everywhere are a real nuisance but that could be blamed to an extent on the warm weather and proximity to water. What staff there was were all very pleasant as are the surroundings - hence 2 stars and not 1...
I ordered the sirloin steak cooked medium but when it came it was beyond well done, it was just burnt. It was about 5mm thick and pretty unpleasant to eat. The only reason this isn’t a 1 star is because they were prompt at bringing me a new one which was better. However, they should be able to cook it correctly in the first place.
Very friendly staff. The food is of great quality. Will be returning soon. Recommend the got chocolate
Shared a birthday meal there joint with family and friends. Lovely atmosphere, lush food and a real nice place.

Tired looking place but has character which would benefit from a good clean and tidy up. The location is pretty and would be lovely to be able to sit outside if the outside area was cleaned up, the patch of river too that the mill sits on needs a major clean. Someone needs to take pride in this place and spruce it up. Despite its untidiness its a nice enough place that I will go to again . Food was nice. Staff were really friendly and made sure we was happy with everything so top marks to them
First time here. Not too bad. Drinks seemed expensive. Food wasnt bad, about mediocre. I had steak, Medium rare but closer to rare and was a bit stringy. Another member of our group had a form of mushroom pie but the pastry was so hard it was like a solid biscuit, not good, and the mushrooms just tasted like they had been boiled in water (or could have been tinned) then put in the pie. Service was ok. Not a huge amount of parking either. Not sure what the kiddie play area was like because we never went in there. I doubt I would go back through choice.
