First time visiting this chippy. Haven't had a chippy in about 2years so thought I'd treat myself. Read reviews and thought ok they have had a few bad reviews and good reviews.. but that is other people's opinions..
So I went for a double cheese burger and chips (which I ordered bout 2mins after I walked in as there was a que) (knowing that it takes longer to cook the burgers)
£7.70 for double cheese burger and chips is a decent price in my opinion.
Definitely recommend this chippy.. but if you are wanting a burger or anything that takes longer to cook. Order it as soon as you go in if there is a que.
So fancied a treat after a very long day Monday 18th of March around 18:30 the shop had no other customers waiting and served immediately all totally polite and friendly.
Got home to plate the food and sadly the chips were simply raw and pale and basically undercooked, half we tried to salvage in the air fryer "defeat's the idea of a takeaway" and the rest in the bin.
A visit to the Fish & Chip shop is now a luxury for most people so why would you disrespect customers by serving raw potatoes ?
Such a shame when trying to support a local business.
This was quite a while ago but we were thinking about ordering from here last night but remembered what happened a while ago when we last ordered from there. We ordered a small chips and a pie I think it was and we ordered a normal piece of chicken. Went up and got it, came home and food was alright until it got to the chicken. Opened the chicken and it wasn't cooked properly. The chicken was pink on the inside so we threw it straight in the bin. Chips and pie were okay though. Haven't been since ordering that chicken, not ordering from there tonight.
Portions was small large chips was more like a small bag not worth £4.45 at all. The food seemed under cooked and since when did a lunch box cost nearly £8 shocking
Hi I normally never leave a review but I felt I had to. My friend works at this place and she has told me about the boss and his Mrs regarding the lack of knowledge when it comes to food safety and hygiene. The wife often pressures the cook to cut meat before it’s ready which has lead to my husband getting food poisoning from this place. Avoid the chicken kebab as there is no regard to whether it’s cooked or not. Also staff that were tipped over Christmas have now been told to pay back the tips. My friend is a single mother that struggles daily to make ends meet and the greedy owner wants tip money that rightfully belongs to the staff not the owners that sit pretty on there profits. The whole attitude towards the staff is borderline bullying and aggressive. I loved this Chippy as it’s my local and I’ve been using for a while but since hearing all of this, I will not be going back. The owners need to rethink if they have no passion for the business or quality of food, they shouldn’t be trading. And the wife needs to learn English as often is very rude and abrupt to customers. It’s is not somewhere where anyone would want to work!!!

Jane Hawshore can I please add to your review which I think is totally unacceptable towards my boss and his wife it is more racial bullying for what u are saying it is very hard to hear what is said sometimes which is why customers are asked to repeat themselves this chip shop has a 5star food and hygiene rating and has done for the last 6 years!! As for the chicken meat it is always cooked properly we pride ourselves in making sure all food is cooked correctly and to temperature , the boss hasn’t asked anybody for there Xmas tips and would never do such thing
Friendly staff and they are very popular... We have had food from there for past 9 years and they have been great!
