Lovely people selling good fresh produce.
I purchased fresh crab, lobster and scallops to make a starter dish for 8 adults celebrating my son’s 39th birthday. Followed it with fresh hake and king prawns with samphire. The king prawns were butterflied and cleaned something rare in our modern times! Again all from Bay fisheries. All
the produce was fresh and cooked quickly another sign of freshness.
8 happy guests. Highly recommended and ask if you need advice.
As fresh as it comes

Looks like an original unspoilt old shop in the village
Crab very nice bought some prawns also but asked for sauce separate and got told would have to charge for the tub to put it in which wasn't a problem but when opened the tub which cost 20p there wasn't even a teaspoon of sauce very disappointed ????
We always grab a seafood snack as we walk to the beach. Never disappointed. Also purchased some fish to cook back at camp... Perfect.
Like the idea of supporting local businesses. even if a little pricier. but dressed crab in a PLASTIC crab shell shaped bowl! With one crab claw? Disappointing at best.
What happened to the original shell and other claw?
Whitby fishmongers, particularly Roe is way better.
We just had two half dressed lobsters from here and they were delicious. Very fresh tasting and perfectly cooked, the meat melted in your mouth.
Got home to find my dressed crab was in a plastic shell with questionable meat inside, I’ve tasted tinned crab before and was similar to that, very disappointed and wasn’t cheap either.
If the shop was in the middle of an urban city I’d understand, but it’s literally right next to the sea with fishing boats...
Don't bother with the crab rolls, 5 pounds, dry and barely any crab. Had far better locally.
