Good gluten free options, food has been a bit hit and miss. The one time slightly under (cooked but not crispy batter). The next time the chips were so hot they melted the packaging they came in.
Good location on the Bath Road with a small car park & on road parking. Quick service with plenty of staff working. I had cod, chips & a small tub of baked beans and all the items were hot and well cooked. The battered fish was perfect, as were the chips. Recommended & I would use again.
Reheated chips, how'd you know? colour, colour, and colour again. It's way too dark for a first fry. Fish? Reheated or decided to throw itself into the net. So dried out, it was either very old or reheated, perhaps both?
Looks like it's back to cook your own. At least you can control quality and portion sizes. Did I mention the fish was albut the size of a large fish finger?
All a big pity, really. Last time they were lovely. Quality control perhaps is the main issue for the owner!
Lady was freindly who served me. Bought sausage & chips , pie & chips tonight, chips tasted like they had been re-heated & put in the fryer twice as they were dark & hard & sausage was pink under cooked, what a waste of £10 our valentine meal not, it was put in the bin. Only thing that was eaten was the pie & that wasn't that warm but at least it was edible. My Phone needed charging so couldn't phone the chippy to complain as the shop was closed
This has been our go-to for many years. Son recently back for a visit from US & wanted F&C which he can't get done well on the states. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Early evening, around 5.30pm, all 3 fish & chips were dry & tasteless. Think fish must have been sitting fir some time, chips for sure were not fresh cooked. Shame as it was good in the past.
I eat the gluten free fish and chips… absolutely amazing. Gorgeous food, lovely staff and food is always ready when they say… you guys are great xx❤️
We've had fish & chips from here several times & they have always been..ok. However, tonight, not only had the prices rocketed, £7.80 for a piece of fish!! But the fish was so very dry it was almost hard, & the batter was like chewing concrete. I feel that it must of been sitting under the heater for hours.
Not good enough. I expect a decent meal for the amount of my hard earned money they are now demanding.
I didn't return the fish as I had just got in from a long day & really couldn't face the walk back again.
I'm afraid they have lost a customer
Ordered and delivered to st John's area within the hour ordered on a Friday night at 6.30pm. We had chicken meat and chips and I would say they were the hottest, freshest chips I have had from a chippy, not greasy, and cooked to perfection crispy on the outside and fluffy centres. The chicken kebab meat was delicious, succulent chicken with a nice crispy cooked edge. The was more than enough but not a ridiculous size portion. I will be returning and would recommend to anyone.
