Best KPortal Reviews
Visited this place with the Pie & Mash Club. This was a 9/10 for me and the scoring based on the fact that they don’t sell eels. Very good quality pies, good liquor but the outstanding thing was the mash - the best texture and taste that I’ve had in a Pie & Mash Shop and I’ve visited many. To add to that the chili vinegar was very lively. The owner Terry and his partner were lovely friendly people who made customers feel very welcome. It’s a bit tucked away but worth the trip. If you don’t visit this shop you’re missing out. Would highly recommend.
Quaint little place, tasty pies, and really good mash. Really friendly guy serving, and a chilled venue. A little bit expensive, but overall it was a great experience
I have pie and mash every week, the food is great, the meal is a traditional dish, the mash is divine. You are always made to feel welcome. Terry and Kelly, are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Love this place.
Good old fashioned Cockney pie shop. Like the old days , great Banter, friendly staff, tasty and well priced food, different spice strength of vinegars and they even cater to Vegans with 30 mins notice to fresh bake a vegan pie, as a Vegan and a Cockney I was delighted to visit here today and will be back everytime I'm working in this area.
This is definitely my new favourite pie and mash shop! The pies are banging and the mash and liquor are perfect. Plenty of free parking right outside too….highly recommend.
A stone throw from the Excel center Prince regent d.l.r station, is a gem of a pie and mash shop. The mashed potato is smooth creamy no lumps. Pie is authentic tasting deep field identifiable beef mincemeat light easy to cut pastry, with a liquor sauce made with lots of fresh cut parsley, if you are daring have a splash of chilli malt vinegar on your pie. For that authentic EastEnder taste Barry's pie and mash.
Tried it out as it was local and someone mentioned the place on the weekend.
It’s a clean and welcoming shop. The food is 5/10 and that’s being nice.
Too much gravy pouring out of the Pies and not enough meat. Pie and the liquor is very bland you need loads of salt and chilli vinegar to get any flavour.
Hope things improve.
It doesn't look like a traditional pie & mash shop but the food is good. Not my favourite shop but close. Staff are always chatty and friendly
