Great introduction to Eritrean food! The service was so friendly, and the portions were generous (much larger than appears in the photo below). Will definitely come back!
Amazing lady, delicious food. The whole experience was great, so welcoming and helpful and the food was really excellent. We will be coming back next time we're in Newport and would strongly recommend anyone to pay them a visit!
The owner was absolutely lovely- so sweet and friendly.
We got the veggie platter and the lamb stir fry to share, everything was delicious and really great value for money
It reminds me of my days in Eritrea when I used to run from the local government as I had not so nice things to say about the police. On the run, no money, no shelter the only thing that kept me going was the chicken zigni. It gave me the true meaning of life and when I went to this place it was like my purpose in life was reignited, truly astonishing.
Brilliant people they always have more love less than hate ❤️
Delicious food with a great range of very reasonably priced vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes. The helpful owner will explain the different dishes to you, which are cooked fresh from organic ingredients. The decor is tradition as is the music.
When we go with our vegetarian daughter we really enjoy the vegetarian platter (which is actually vegan and enough for 2 or 3 people) served on an injera- a traditional fermented (and yummy) pancake, and my husband and I also share the fragrant spiced lamb or beef stir fry. Titi also sells ingredients such as teff and shiro
Thoroughly enjoyed eating at Bana's, the lady who served me my food was humbly accomodating and welcoming and I felt like I experienced authentic Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine. I've watched people travel to these parts and eat this kind of food so to experience it myself was very rewarding. I had the vegetarian platter, which consisted of a local bread and then 5 sizable meals placed on top of the bread. If you go to many countries is is customary to eat food with your hands, which made this overall experience even more authentic and in my opinion adds to the flavour of the food. Great local eat in/take out business in Newport and very well priced for what I had. Not to mention the authentic chai/tea I was served which was filled with numerous herbs and spices. Very enjoyable meal and will be visiting again soon.
Fantastic food and very friendly owner. Definitely the best place for authentic Ethiopian cuisine.
